Been listening to Chico's cassette tapes a fair amount recently since the GZ iPhone app is now working for me. These recordings do a great job of really painting a picture of Paz and Chico's time in the base. I'm loving all the effects they added to really paint the scene. Spoiler: click to toggle I've also enjoyed catching up on some of PW's tapes as well. Paz mentions that Cipher might have another spy at Mother Base. Do you think this was Huey? The GZ tape indicates that he setup the attack on Mother Base, but doesn't dictate exactly whether he did it with the intention of an attack. Though, despite his crush on her, he did allow Dr. Strangelove to leave without much of a fight the week before the attack. While playing PW I never once thought Huey to be a spy, though he did join Snake pretty quickly without too much hesitation. |

I don't know how I feel about the tapes stuff really... but I can see why people dislike it so much and where there where alot of people in the games press calling it out. I feel like Kojima and MGS as a whole, tells its stories and social commentary through its sub-plots and the use of those tapes is a little too on the nose and kinda just thrown out there without much else around it. I feel like if the cut scenes had alluded to things like that happening and that it wasn't like lol we shoved a bomb up her fanny hahaha... it would have been better over-all. I still feel like Kojima never really learn't much from MGS2. That game's sub-plot and sub-text was amazing and crazy deep.. the problem was that it was just too thick, instead of addressing it for later games he kinda just stripped it all out so when we come to MGS:GZ's it's just thrown out there. I think it's a shame that Kojima has so much power and no one on the team who can just call him out on these things and help him to write better scripts... |

@Bundy - Wow, I thought I had listened to all the tapes on PW. Totally missed this one. Thanks! Just looked it up... You get that tape after finishing all the Main and the Extra Ops missions. I hadn't finished all the Extra Ops. I should go back and do that to see what else I missed. |

Anyone else feel like they heard David Hayter's voice when Snake said "Hands up"? I'm not saying it is, it just sounded a little more gravelly than we've heard Kiefer before. Thought it was strange |
