Interesting little live action promo video for MGSV. nothing we haven't seen in the early trailers is shown(except for one, little clip), if you're worried about any spoilers. MGSV Gamescom trailer. Not cut by Kojima this time around, it seems. Edited by Acheron, Aug 5 2015, 11:22 AM.

Just to let everyone know, the official Metal Gear twitter has just confirmed that there is no difficulty selection for MGSV, apart from the chicken hat that makes the game really easy. So I guess the only way to challenge ourselves this time around is no reflex mode. Unlike GZ, where we could choose that and whether not to play on normal or hard. I imagine they put it this way because of the FOB system. Since that's an online mode that interacts with your single player campaign. To keep everyone on a similar playing field. It would be unfair if person who plays on an easy difficulty to go infiltrate your base and your AI is instantly worse because of his/her playing level. So, with everyone playing on one level, this allows the FOB system to work. I know certain players in the MGS community will not like this because many people love to play on extreme or EE. I'm preferably a "hard" or "extreme" mode player. European Extreme makes me freak the fuck out. What are your thoughts guys? It's just strange for a MGS game to not have a difficulty setting, especially when it was in Ground Zeroes. |

Since it's open world this time AND Mother Base feels like a wonderland you can lose yourself for days, I think we'll get enough bang for the buck without varying difficulties. In earlier MGS games you were finished comparatively quickly even if you didn't hurry. As you said, more challenge through self-handicap, like no reflex. |

They also have really pushed the idea of the AI making moves to combat your habits. So I think if you tried to replay a mission, it would be more difficult applying the same strategy you used before. Maybe the difficulty will be ramped up in relativity to how you've been playing. So I guess that would mean that I agree with the idea that difficulty is more determined by what you do, and the game can adapt based on that. |

Yup, they stated that in the E3 demo. I'm sure that's how the game adds difficulty. Getting accustomed to your playing style, forcing you to do another tactic that you might be unfamiliar or uncomfortable with. I find that to be genius. Also, just learned that you can send your troops in attack ops on enemy supply factories. If successful in those outer-ops, you can slow down the development of weapons, helmets, armor, etc for the enemy. Making it easier for you when you tackle certain missions in certain areas. THE HYPE IS SO FUCKING REAL. I'm honestly surprised that this new gameplay hasn't sparked more activity within the forum. I'm not talking about the core people that usually post. I'm talking about new users, guests, or whatnot. I guess I can't let go of the day when there was like 130 people on here at once. It was right when they confirmed that the Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes were both chapters combined to make MGSV. That shit was wild. Edited by SolidLiquid, Aug 6 2015, 04:16 AM.

I like that whoever made that, completely disregarded the logo and "WISP" written on it as well. |

^Yeah, I'm not gonna regret keeping it to the last gen at all. Also since aside the graphics the game is all the same on every console. |

Ok so I just had a crack at MGS:GZ's again on my PC. I really REALLY dislike the 360 controller for playing that game, it's just not good at all for that type of game IMO, on top of that, while it will look better on PC, it won't look that much better on my rig and the frame-rate sure as shit isn't 60fps solid. So I'm pretty happy to wait for my PS4 and that copy to arrive |

Less than a month, it seems almost surreal. Any info on preloading for the steam version? |

Xbox One apparently has it preloading already. I'm sure it will for PS4 and PC soon, right?

It really is surreal, Vic. We've been waiting for this game for a good bit. We did have GZ in between that time, but since it didn't have a whole lot of content (still have put in many hours), it made this wait for the Phantom Pain even worse. It gave us just a little taste of the fox engine and what was to come and it's fantastic. But it left me wanting so much more, so for this game to finally be coming out in less than a month, I feel overwhelmed with joy. |
