Well, I've put in about 96 hours now. I've been trying to get that cutscene where Ocelot throws water on you for not taking a shower in a while. I haven't taken a shower for the last 80 hours or so.... No cutscene yet. I wonder how long you have to play without showering for the cutscene to trigger.
If you want to keep trying yourself, don't look at the spoiler.

Spoiler: click to toggle
Thanks! I never would have thought of that.

I finally got the Brennan LRS-46 and have been screwing around with it. Took out a Tank unit, then decided to fool around at Yakho Oboo with it. First shot, on a guard in the watchtower on the left side of the base:

Shot goes through his searchlight, through him, out the back through his ballistic shield, and into the wall of the tower, causing it to collapse.

Holy shit.

Also got an easy two-minute S-rank on A Hero's Way, just took out the commander from 200m while on D-Horse when he stepped out of his room. Love this thing so far.

It's absolutely ridiculous. Ultimate Skull elimination tool.

I found this on reddit, it's someone's grandmother attempting to explain MGSV after being asked several questions about it.

You know, I didn't think about how absurd the horseback riding is until now. I can perfectly control D-Horse hands-free while unloading on enemies with a light machine gun. Gotta love that MGS logic.

Ok so I think I'm going to try and 100% this game. I've been thinking about it more and more and I think it would be worth a try, from what I've read the most frustrating and dull parts of that game, is the side ops stuff, which I've already done.
Listening to people who have 100%'d it and there experiences with doing all the extra stuff for all the objectives and then s-ranking missions, it sounds like fun.

I've also been reading r/neverbegameover and it's kind of amazing, the whole thing about reddit it is kinda shows group mentality and nbgo is a perfect example of a group of people desperate for more, unable to accept what was reality looking for the 'real truth'. Never before has the games title been more appropriate. I don't think we will ever know the truth about the game, the cut scenes teased at the end of Chapter 1 that never happened in Chapter 2. Mission 50 and why it was included on the Bonus Blu-ray and almost nothing else (like for real, compare it to the Blu-ray that came with MGS4).
The more I think about MGSV and compare it to MGS2 the more MGSV grows on me.

I only hope that the novels are translated as from what Kojima has been saying the book (MGSV) makes for a great accompanying piece to the game and I'm curious what it adds and what the book says.

I had an awesome time getting to 100%, the side ops were getting lame after a while but the main mission side objectives and S ranks can be challenging and fun. Definitely agree with you on the affect this has had on the fan-base, I accepted the title for what it was and felt that it was the intent of Kojima to leave us with a "phantom pain" but I also can understand the hunt for more. I think in a few years people will hold this title high for it's innovation compared with the rest of the series in terms of the change in game play and the way it makes you think about the rest of the series as a whole.

I think I may be starting to burn out at 57%. Might take a break from TPP for a little while, but there's nothing else I want to play and I won't have Fallout 4 at launch.

Maybe I should finally get around to playing Fallout 3. Idk.

I'm also going for 100%. Currently at 83%. The side ops has been to most boring so far. Should have mixed more side ops in between the story missions.

Currently working on S ranks and tasks. Maybe by the end of November. I've already put 135 hours into this game. Metal_Gear_Z, how many hours did it take you to get 100%?

I hit 100% myself after 123 hours. Worst moments for me were the "follow and listen to conversation" tasks. Mostly because they're really wonky, and the dialogue will have a chance of not triggering for literally no good reason. That, or you farted and the guards noticed, and now you're on "caution" permanently and the guards completely forget about talking to eachother for the rest of the mission.

And the "back up, back down" mission was one of the few I had to look up a guide for. The prisoners are everywhere in that mission. Only other thing is the retarded "place cages here, and RNG gods will give you the rare animal" collectibles. It took me about an hour to collect the ones I had left to do, which was like 60% of them.

However, the rest of the experience was superb. One of the few games I've ever felt actual purpose when replaying missions. The very first mission rescuing Kaz, there's an objective to travel to a different village and rescue some soldiers, and Ocelot will acknowledge it. Story elements can change a little too, following soldiers and listening to dialogue or collecting intel you didn't find before seems minor, but will actually end up being a part of the post-mission briefing(y'know, when Kaz tells you about all the shit you found from the dudes you extracted).

Unlike Ground Zeroes where a bunch of extra dialogue is missable, the tasks direct you to it. And a lot of it is worth it just to add a little flavor that makes 100%ing it all the less tedious.

S ranks are literally "do it fast". I went for S ranks, then did tasks so I could do all the other stuff without worry.

On your other note, I really really love r/neverbegameover. There's something new there every day, keeping the dream alive that there's more than we know. In fact, something about Famitsu came out today and they're all over it. It's really convincing stuff. Such a great community over there.

Do you ever feel like the buddies get jealous of one another? Ha! It seems like whenever I complete a mission with one buddy, the other one looses bond, even when I use both during the mission.

I began using D-Walker after all this time. Upgraded him to have an H-Discharger, Stealth mode, scouting, etc. Good stuff.

Pretty funny that Konami have shut down KP LA, the only hope for that cluster fuck is that the PC version comes out and has dedicated server support, otherwise that thing is fucking D-E-A-D

Getting that Leopard Tortoise is super annoying. Any tips? I've watched a few videos on youtube, but nothing seems to work.

Edit: Never mind. Just got it.

Finally reached 100% Completion! 183 hours! Still have four more trophies though...
