I've still yet to even touch mgsv since I finished all the side-ops... all the patch notes are really putting me off playing it again... yeah I went deep back into MGSV but I can't really do it, really don't like it all that much. Edited by baldgye, Dec 2 2015, 11:23 PM.

Went back to it, it's slowly pulling me back in... Done all the missions bar the extreme ones (though I did the quiet one) not sure if I'm that interested in s-ranking everything... Working through the animals ATM it's kinda fun though a bit drawn out God all the animals... Holy shit the Skulls are literally worse than cancer... Getting pulled back into TPP and just doing side ops and the like. Also did a few event FOBs and copped that rose camo and godawful pink-orange gun camo.

The extended soundtrack is what needed to come out a while ago. It's truly worthy of a great MGS soundtrack. Contains so many great pieces that we never got to hear in game or only heard it once. I really love Venom's theme. Plays every time he has a "Big Boss" moment. |

After pondering it for a long time, I've come to appreciate Kojima's decision of making Venom his own character. His origin as a random nameless soldier is weak, but during the game he transforms into an actual character that, while reminiscent of Big Boss, still comes out as his own man. The differences are there. Like he thinks he's BB, but still acts differently in subtle ways. The rest of the cast help in this (especially Quiet), as during MGSV they feel like Venom's crew instead of Big Boss's. Even Kaz and Ocelot. As I look at fan art of the gang, Big Boss feels like an outsider to that image. Paz meant a lot to Venom too, not because he thought he was BB, but because he knew Paz himself from the original Mother Base and was there when she died. They couldn't have manipulated him so strongly that Big Boss's feelings for Paz transferred too. Perhaps he thought that was what it is, at least until he learned the truth from the cassette. Then there are the changes to appearance; the "horn", the bionic arm, the scars on his face and the ponytail. Because they prevent Venom from looking 100% like Big Boss, it's that much easier to see him as his own being. Though the two are their own characters, I'm still lumping them together in my ranking of all-time favorite video game characters. They are still similar enough that I don't want to set them apart. A complete Big Boss Package so to speak. |

There are a lot of blind people that can interact with things, or move about, just fine. They learn to adapt, and usually function better than sight-capable people in some instances. I actually spoke about, about Miller, before the game came out when I pointed out he's blind. |
