Better than the last demo, looks fantastic. Snake feels like a Ninja with all this jumping around and speedy sprinting, his new movelist is very versatile... and the new CQC system is pure badass.

Maybe it's just GZ that has this isolated mission structure. I believe PP will be more cohesive.




The game looks really really good, I just hope we can turn off the marking enemies system as it seems to be automatic once you look at a soldier. Can't wait.

It looks pretty good to me, though I'm not without qualms after that trailer.

HUD being as minimal as possible is nice, when you consider there's enough button prompts on-screen. It's a fair trade off. Regenerating health, on the other hand... don't think I can approve of that. Sure, you could regenerate health and stamina in past games, though there were limits in place, and some of the best moments in those MGS titles was being low on health and still scraping through a boss battle. I don't want an MGS game where I'm in a fire fight, find myself injured, crawl to a corner and be able to wait 10 seconds to regain all my health. BTW is that supposed to be blood splatter when BB gets hurt, because it reminds me of film burning. I'm also not really digging the x-ray either. It is, essentially, the substitute for radar, but I dunno. Slow motion alerts are another thing I think I'll have to get a feel for before passing judgement - I'd say it's justified if there's to be more enemies and set-pieces on screen, you know, the stakes and risks just being alot higher than usual.

Physics look immense; I love seeing the human form shaped and reacting naturally to the various elements in a game, ie. Snake's CQC. Agreed with Rikitatsu that the sprinting is pretty badass. The tank and cliff sequence near the end was awesome. Kojima seems to be setting the bar again in that department.

I'm honestly with you on that one, to some extent. The animation looks cool, but I feel like it would be so much better if it were polished up.

I knew you were going to say that, haha. I completely understand that it's a demo. Was just speaking my current standings on what I saw.
Also, like Kojima has said in tweets... they are showing off the easier modes becasue they want more people to be able to play and enjoy MGS, hence the healthregen and that they are working on more traditional style modes for people like us...

...the only real things you can take away (IMO) from the demo was the sale of the maps, the HUD/UI, animations and general level design...

It looks excellent from gameplay standpoint. A lot of things done right in this game. This game stands for Tactical Espionage Operations and absolutely delivers on it. It's not just a Stealth Action Adventure game. It's basically Stealth/military simulation/Tactical/action adventure. The fact that you can plan your tactics from the beggining of the game is awesome as hell.
and to be honest, Kojima showed only a glimpse of what possible in MGSV. So far we have seen two simple side-missions. Go there - take that - bring that.

The fact that you can use helicopter is just a great idea. Besides, you can check your iDroid or fly in the helicopter and gameplay is not at pause when you do this. Gameplay always continue no matter what you do.

I have issues only with X-Ray thing. With marks I can live but I hope that I can turn X-Ray off. In my opinion it's a bit of a cheat and I don't see what Big Boss is wearing that can show him X-Ray. I'm sure it has something to do with "Phantom Pain" but you can't go so deep by showing off X-ray on the enemies. This thing ruins a lot of things not just for the gameplay but for the immersion.

Slo-mo is still in question. But at the same time I can see why Kojima is doing that. When alert phase is starting all of the base is going after you. I just can't understand how can you hide in the situation like this. It's impossible to do that to be honest when the full base is after you, so Kojima basically helps you from being detected because you've made a mistake and you can clearly see that you can make a mistake by the second demo.

Maps are huge now. No more tunnel stealth with limited vision. You have a lot of choices and options for your strategy. This game embraces basically new concept for it's future. there is no codec anymore but there is a SATELLITE where you can click on stuff and characters will eventually say something about it. there will be Sony Walkman.

It's Metal Gear at it's finest but much better and don't let me start about the fact that you can choose day or night for infiltration. Come on. That is really cool.
