My, really-quick-not-in-depth, Thoughts The mechanics I have seen are an update to the franchise which is cool, whether I'm "into" them or not is another question. Having played through Blacklist recently, it seems very reminiscent to that and not to a previous metal gear title, which places a doubt on this game (which feels quite sad considering I've enjoyed nearly every inch of this franchise since it started) For true fans, we are still going to enjoy the game due to the story behind it and where it takes us to, but I also want to enjoy playing it and not be able to breeze through (which at the moment looks like we could easily do) I welcome change but I also fear it. My final thoughts will be written up, upon playing the game. p.s fuck bullet time, snake is not neo. stopped early on dem thoughts, could of went on for a while, but cba to read someone dissecting me in 1249124 quotes

I don't think there will be English demos. The Japanese demos will be uploaded, as well as the debut trailer in English. |

Bullet-time is irrelevant, it's either there or it's not, I don't see it as major. Back in MGS2 we had some time to quiet an enemy, because they had to alert their comrades with the radio. Think of this as that, just lamer in execution. Rather than entirely regenerating health, I'd have preferred a Farcry 2 style combination(perhaps also in FC3, haven't played that one yet): The bar is divided in four sections that each regenerate themselves, but not past the borders. The last one is critical; you need to carve out a bullet from your body or something. The rest can be healed with medicine. Best health mechanic I've seen. ...Come to think of it, MGS3 had a pretty good health system too. Only the survival viewer was too clunky. Lens flare. Meh, I don't mind, it's a handy gimmick like seeing the field of vision in your radar was in past games. Doubt we realize to react to it that often anyway.. Marking can be okay, but it should be limited, duration-wise or something. The X-Ray is bullshit, that one especially needs to be limited. Like it's a gizmo that feeds on battery power like a motherfucker. All in all, from what I've seen the game offers me a playground to try different stealth tactics or generally mess around. Just what I've been doing in all Metal Gear titles I've played, only now it's actual open world. The story is more important of the two and it seems to cater very well based on the E3 trailer. Could be the best MGS ever or at least joins Peace Walker as a great tertiary MGS. |

Except it was actually hard to get their radios at times. Especially if it caught you off guard and you panicked while trying to aim for their radios. The bullet time aspect is nothing like this. |

the slow-motion stuff didnt seem that bad. i was expecting it to be longer but it slows down for a bit and then starts up again. idk it looked to me it didnt spend a lot of time in slow motion mode to me. im interested in the mechanics as long as there is challenge. i shouldn't be able to be half asleep and to get through a section a ok. but im going to assume that the game's difficulty will be more challenging to compensate these mechanics. |

Has this been posted yet? I really dislike the way Skull Face sounds in English. Japanese voice actor had a ton more conviction from what I remember. Also Kiefer isn't off to a good start IMO. |

I think Japanese voice acting has more conviction in any character, in any game, really, simply due to the emotion and work Japanese VAs put in. Not to say American VAs aren't good, because some are outstanding, but I think the number of good Japanese VAs far outweighs the number of good American VAs. I think it comes down to culture as a whole, the Japanese are incredibly careful, for their work, and put in everything they'd want to take out of something. Kind of shows, really. Though I don't mind Sutherland. Sounds fine to me. |

Both sound fine to me, I think with Slullface he kinda has the radio DJ type problem in reverse where you've already in your head made your mind up about how he should sound, like with radio djs, you make a picture of what you think they look like and then when you see them it's hard to put the face and voice together. |

Skullface voice is abit of a let down, no where near menacing as what i'd come to expect. But there are some things I noticed being abit of an audiophile. Something about the voice mixdowns sound really strange I only got a little excited when I heard Kaz' voice, which sounded warm and compressed in that MGS fashion, but there's something about the audio of skull and bb sounded slightly 'tube-y' as if they hadn't spent as much time with EQ and processing. Even skullface voice has a slight reverb tail, not the sort of tail you'd put on for that location. Perhaps not the final mixdown, perhaps another kojima placeholding troll attempt. perhaps i'm looking to deep and i'm really fucking wrong. |

What seems off is that they changed the voice for GZ's... I wish they had only done it for TPP (after waking from his coma) so it not only makes more sense following PW but also helps to reinforce the idea and notion that BB has changed and is becoming the bad guy we know from MG1&2 |
