I'm not one to care much about voice actors changing, they do that all the time in games like Resident Evil, but in this case it's also another element to Big Boss that distances him from Solid Snake. Losing the bandanna was already a good change, changing the voice is another, and Kiefer's voice fits BB.

Kojima has emphasized so much how he's trying to bring performance to another level with MGSV but I'm not seeing it with english Skullface. It sounds like somebody doing a voice. Like when I try to make myself sound like Darth Vader by lowering my voice's pitch. And the way he emphasizes certain lines; "you earned it". Didn't exactly feel natural to me, more like slightly cheesy classic MGS voice acting that we've had before. Perhaps my perception is just thrown by the fact that I've already heard the Japanese voice so many times. The voice was already sealed to that character in my brain and now I have to work to un-seal it. Same with Kiefer. I'm optimistic overall though. I think Kiefer will end up being much more natural and nuanced than Hayter. We know that this GZ opening cutscene was put together a long time ago with English added more recently so maybe there will be a quality jump between that and the rest of MGSV.

A shame they're keeping Christopher Randolph, though. Huey is another one who I think needs more distance to his son in likeness.

Still hoping that GZ is a demo for TPP, but a prologue demo, GZ could even be a beta...

As in free download to get used the new mechanics of MGSV and a little intro towards it all.

(going on the time he said he'd really like to bring the idea of 'Pilot Episode' games into the industry)

I doubt they'd release it for free. I just hope both games will be bundled in the same package eventually.

TPP 300x bigger than GZ.

GZ Sounds like a demo...

How much would they really market that for if it was a standalone? It doesn't sound like it has that much longevity?

Imagine how many new customers they'd pull in if they were to launch this as one of the first batch of demos on next-gen consoles.
You have to bare in mind, this is not your 'normal' metal gear release...

Maybe 20 dollars? Games like Journey and Flower are also just a few hours in length, but they charged a price for that.

this is something kojima should be addressing its been like a year or two and no one knows the situation with ground zeroes and phantom pain. the gameplay sounds cool but why keep the distribution a secret?

The more and more I think about it the more and more it makes me want to wait to see what console this game will be best on.

It's safe to say it's coming to everything, but we all know how much money MS has and how in the shit Sony is, which could mean that XBONE ends up the better platform.
