Rusty downed the pills like Jagd had, immediately having the pain numbed. It was a relief. He nodded at the merc. "Sure thing. And...thanks for calling her Nu, instead of the Murakumo or something like that." His smile indicated the sincerity of that comment. "And mate? You have to stop losing arms. I think you're beating Ragna at this point." Stifling his hysteric laughter as best he could, (We still have a job to do, god damn it!) Rusty made his way up the ladder, being as careful as possible with Nu. But there was one thing he had to disagree on. "Jagd... We can't. If we go home to recover first, they'll lock this place down faster than you can blink. We won't get anywhere near this close ever again. And they'll just keep coming for us, regardless of what we accomplished here. It'll mean nothing if we don't take out that Cauldron now. The Cauldron has to die..." He stared at the floor, not being able to believe what he was saying. Jagd was the tactical leader here. He KNEW what to do in these situations. Rusty should be following HIS orders directly. "...you're right...I was stupid. Let's get Nu out of here." |

Jagd grins. "Never had bomb personally. Isley Dunmainn, MONOC stealth specialist, planted device three minutes twenty-two seconds ago in maintenance tunnel beneath Cauldron. Detonation in six minutes thirty five seconds now. Restated: extraction, first priority." He absently draws a pistol - a real holstered one on his hip, not a sealed one for once - and picks off a panicked NOL soldier as he peeks over a table. "Arm . . . will be troublesome." he admits. "Recovery of limb impossible due to Kingfisher's consumption. Will need prosthetic. Awkward." A scowl. "Better than nothing, supposing." They enter the lobby, where the six members of Monoc have forted up, and Jagd nods at Michael. "Status?" "Six assaults, getting tougher to hold." the man replies. There's bandage running around his leg, and he sits against a pillar, his submachine gun aimed squarely at one of the hall entrances. "Moving out then." Jagd decides, and slaps his earpiece against his shoulder with a flick of his head. "Rueham, request pickup." "Aye aye, sir," comes the tinny voice, and the roar of the Brigand's engines grow audible as it descends from the cloud cover, freshly coated in scorches. |
Class. Dig it up, dust it off, hang that shit crooked on an ear. My halo's a land mine rind, amigo.

Rusty grinned back. "You tricky bastard. You had this planned all along, didn't you? Just needed someone to take the plunge and blow the doors for you." he chuckled, holding Nu close still, the little sister still breathing faintly. "Hehe, well, doubt I'm going to be gatecrashing anywhere else for a LONG long time." Getting onto the Brigand, Rusty was in awe of how beautifully designed the interior of the ship was. It was absolutely incredible and had he been healthy, Rusty would have done anything in order to get his paws on it and work away on it's innards. As it was, he just wanted to go to sleep. "Jagd. Hell, everyone... Thanks for this. I never could have done it solo." |

"Have to." Jagd says, cheerful. "Just a man, after all." Michael chuckles, and reaches over to clasp Rust's shoulder. "Glad to chip in." He says with a smile. "Besides, we always got to save the girl. That's a law or something somewhere." Isley shakes her head as she enters the Brigand with her sister. "Specifics?" "You're missing your left bang." Michael helpfully informs her, and Isley's eyes narrow. Hannah stumbles on behind Isley, her eyes owlish and a compress wrapped around her head. She takes a seat beside Michael, who immediately wraps an arm around her. Rueham twists around in his pilot's chair. "We're good to go, Captain." Jagd nods and drops his tired ass into the seat besides Rust, and buckles in, before helping the rocker do the same to Nu. "We're done here." he says, finality and satisfaction soaked in his voice. "Take us home." The Brigand hums as it launches again, and soars away from the smoking headquarters of the NOL. Edited by Gleam, Jun 21 2012, 09:50 PM.

Rusty nodded at the guy who grabbed his shoulder, Michael, he remembered as he gently laid Nu down on the side of the Brigand, making sure she was safe and comfortable. After watching her for a few moments more to make sure that she wasn't in a critical condition, he wiped his bloody mouth again and stood near the window, watching the smoking N.O.L HQ. A small grin came across his features as something suddenly came to mind. Thanks to all the voice distortion from the ungodly amount of seithr he'd utilised, he actually sounded pretty damn good whilst singing for once. "Heavy rings hold cigarettes, Up to lips that time forgets, While the Hollywood sun Sets behind your back..." With a cataclysmic detonation, a sphere of pure black seithr erupted from the earth, enveloping the entire wreckage and ruins. Jet black, reflecting no light, it reached a certain height, then stopped, seithr raging about inside making a noisy like a swarm of angry locusts. A powerful shockwave spread out, crushing the nearby NOL friendly buildings and flattening them. "And can't the band play on? Just listen and play my song..." The sphere began to compress, growing smaller and smaller, decreasing in power as the orb began to glow slightly. "Ash to Ash Dust to Dust Fade to Black..." A brilliant white beam of light shot into the sky with a second almighty explosion. When it was finally dim enough to look again, there was no evidence that a HQ had even existed. Just a smoking crater remained. They'd done it. They'd destroyed the Cauldron. |
