Rusty shot Rueham a Look, going completely Overprotective Big Brother out of principal before relaxing a bit. He probably wasn't flirting with her at all, just that Rusty had been feeling a weird sense of protectiveness ever sine the albino girl had zoomed into his recovery room.

Though if he tries anything...anything he tries to put into her, I will put into HIM.

"Nu?" he asked gently, trying to get her attention. "Eppy might be crazy, but he's one of my best mates. I'd trust him more than Kokonoe at this point to work on me. I'm going to be okay, y'hear?" The mechanic smiled softly. "Besides, if I do get in trouble, you can sword him after, right?"

He flashed Epsilon a wink before looking back at Nu.

"You go. Get checked out and stuff. I'll see you in a bit, yeah?"

As for Epsilons request, there was no other choice.

"On the table there," Rusty noted with his head. "Keyring to the Death Leopard and my first guitar pick. That doable? On a necklace or summit?"

Epsilon examines the trinkets carefully before saying finally, "Yeah, this'll work. I'll siphon your soul into both of these. It's doubly important you not lose them now, but at least having your soul across two objects make it more difficult to target. I'll just set up a seithr link so that the mass transfers to the other container if one breaks. I'll need Nu's help to lock it with Ars defenses and I'll need some help from Monoc to ensure we can properly protect these things from regular non-magic damage."

He returns to the reactors and says finally. "Alright, the seithr reactors are done. I'm going to get started on the entropic one now, which will take a considerably longer period of time to get right." He opens the third box he had with him and pulls out delicate instruments, a very large magnifying stand and goes to work. "How's that resistor workin' for you? You should feel significantly less...well, not woozy, but you should probably feel like you're not bleeding something that isn't there anymore."

"Okay!" Nu says with a nod, firming up. "Uh . . . Mister, I don't remember who you are, but you can take me where I need to go, right?"

Rueham finishes deflating entirely. "Yep." he says, scrubbing at his brow. "Just follow me, hon. Right down the hall."
Class. Dig it up, dust it off, hang that shit crooked on an ear. My halo's a land mine rind, amigo.

Rusty still felt uneasy about letting Nu go with the dude, but he was part of Monoc. If anything untoward happened with Nu, he'd just report him to Jagd and wouldn't THAT be an awesome sight to behold? His attention jerked back from his surrogate sister, Rusty looked back to Epsilon.

"And yeah, all honesty? Would prefer it as one object. I made the pick INTO the keyring, so it's just one. And yeah, never really felt it before, but something definitely feels different here. Like I've just gotten over feeling sick without actually being sick."

He sighed.

"Too hard to explain. You probably know what I mean."

Seeing the scientist work with the reactors and hearing about pituitary glands made the mechanic slightly nervous.

"Err...shouldn't I be sleeping under for surgery like this?"

Epsilon fiddles with the reactor some more before saying slowly, "Most surgery requires you to be under...but...this is akin to brain surgery. I need you awake. No worries though, you'll have drugs." He pulls another tiny trinket from the box and begins to solder it carefully. "Fabulous drugs."

He sighs and begins to insert and adjust tiny pieces of metalwork into the reactor and says, "This entropic reactor will need maintenance too. You'll have to come by whenever it needs to be worked on. No surgery though, I can make a tiny hole in your thick skull to hook up a small device to. From there I can run some simple diagnostics and get you all set. This reactor has almost no power anyway, it's just used to pull and filter out the seithr that's been building in your brain." He laughs. "Otherwise you'll end up crazy." He smiles over at Rust and mumbles, "Shut up Maxwell."

Rusty just blinked several times.

"I'm going to pretend that I DIDN'T understand all that and just let you do your thing. Just, try not to mess around much in there. Believe it or not, there is actually a decent brain behind this thick skull of mine. I'd prefer to know which is right or left, thanks very much"

He sighed before getting his game face on.

"Alright, let's do it."

"So....am I dead yet, or what?"

"You're talking aren't you?" responds Epsilon cheerily. "And your soul will be safe and sound once we can get the anchors up and running properly." He claps his hands and rubs them. "The reactors are running soundly, your body will begin to feel much better in just a short while and we even managed to isolate a unique mutation in your cranial composition and sampled some of your skull for research against seithr-induced bone cancers."

His face becomes serious once again and he adds, "And now I have to see to walking condom man. Hopefully Jagd's condition hasn't worsened. How're you feeling Rusty? Everything running alright? Now's the time before I set about the task of rebuilding a broken man."

"Well, I can move properly now, so that's always a start..." Rusty muttered, sitting up slightly in his bed. "Never thought I'd actually have machines inside of me at some point, but life has a way of throwing these little curveballs, it seems."

Gingerly, he raised an arm and gently brushed the back of his head. A small port, obviously for Epsilon to use for extraction of built up seithr could be felt, but Rust had no way of telling how big it was apart from touch. He could also feel the other reactors at work, a slight pumping inside his body nowhere near his heart. Cool against his bare chest, was the pick, gleaming metal and giving a slight soft glow. That was basically his soul jar now and it felt very comforting to have it so close by. It was on a chain, as suggested by Rusty, so that felt good as well.

In fact the only thing that didn't feel good was...

"I'm not going to be able to use seithr again, am I? At least...not for a very long time. Am I right?"

Epsilon considers Rust. "Well, you've got reactors that bleed the excess from your body. You'll be able to use it, but if you push yourself to hard you'll overheat the reactors or possibly even break them. For the next few days though, try to keep seithr usage to a minimum. It'll cause problems if you try to force the stuff through your body so quickly after having overloaded yourself with it." He skims over his notes on Jagd and adds, "And keep yourself confined to the bed for the next few hours. Your body is in shock, believe it or not, from the reactors I implanted. Mild shock, but shock nonetheless."

The mechanic nodded.

"Alright, one question then. The hell you sticking around here for? Jagd needs you like, yesterday. I feel fine, mate and if there are any problems, I'll give you a shout. As you said, if I'm talking, I must be fine."

He made a shooing motion.

"Go on, get going. Before Jagd is forced to wear that suit for eternity." The words were said in jest, but it was clear what the meaning behind them was. Flopping down onto the bed again, Rusty moved his hand up to clutch at the pick around his neck. It felt warm and pulsing slightly, clinking as it tapped the resistor in his chest.

Yeah, because that's not going to be annoying or anything.

Hey, self deprecating and talking to myself in my head. I must be feeling better.

Better nothing. You've got Tony Stark's chest, the Matrix's head port, various reactors implanted inside you and technically, your soul is inside that keyring you have hanging around your neck.

Well...better than being dead, I suppose. And hey, we still have a decent shot at getting laid. Unlike Jagd.

....you really think a missing arm is going to stop him tapping a metric ton of ass? Women dig the scarred look.

...wonder if those twins are free?
