Callie chuckles, shaking her head. "We all can shoot, Mr. Lang. As for getting into actual firefights, the only ones that are experienced with that are Rawlins and Micah." Shooting her a dirty look, Micah turned back to Desmond and said, "I'm not going to say that we'll all keep our cool under pressure, but I think you can count on us if worse comes to worst. My experience is mostly through hunting in the Midlands, but Rawlins is ex-Librarium." Stephen makes a disgusted sort of noise, but Micah puts up a hand, silencing him before he starts talking. |

Desmond nods at Micah's words, feeling something confirmed. "Three noncombatants, then. Make sure they are kept out of fighting, a panicked fighter is little better than a dead one, and exceedingly close to making the change. Especially so with firearms." Desmond never liked guns. They were loud, flashy, and required a lot of maintenance. While they were undeniably effective, he always was able to make do with his old skills, learned from Ikaruga's best ninja. Shrugging, Micah says, "We had a plan if things go south. Rawlins and I would use the cover of the building to hold off the Librarium while the others withdrew to a more sheltered area. We figure it'll only be a matter of minutes now until our ride comes in with fire support. Then it's just a matter of suppressive fire until we're loaded and out." He gives Desmond a once-over, and then asks, "You know how to shoot? You look like you have more of a cloak-and-dagger thing going on - that and the fact that you had to have been that thud on the roof a bit back, seems to say 'no.'" |

"I have tested them, and no some basics. I am rather unskilled in their use, however. So far, I have been skillful enough to never need them." Desmond shakes his head at their plan. "And what happens when a Shebalve blows open the roof, rendering your cover moot? Or commandos enter through the windows, much as I have? Your plan depends on merely facing waves of cannon fodder, the type I can take on by myself in open terrain." Desmond flicks out his blades. "The latter, at least, I should be able to handle personally." |

Another shrug. "Admittedly, we are relying on the fact that Monoc should be showing up soon. If they are somehow waylaid, then we're pretty much screwed." Micah makes a sweeping gesture, indicating the size of the warehouse. "You were extremely quiet. Most special operations forces would make a great deal more noise than you did, and they would find that they have walked into a killing field" They had made it a point to set up at a point farthest from the windows, which lined one wall, and far from the loading bay at the back. Taking a gun bag from the rows of stuff, Micah slings it over his shoulder and unzips it. He also grabs a fair-sized white canvas bag, which he slings over the other shoulder. He reaches into the gun bag and draws out a large shotgun, finished in matte olive with a bright metal receiver. "As for Shebalves and other airborn threats - that's where Fornax here comes in." Even Desmond could not help but feel impressed in the presence of that gun. It was obviously an Ars Magus of some power. Desmond nods, and lowers his head. "Please forgive me. I spoke unfairly. You were more prepared than I gave you credit for." Desmond always was arrogant, but his pride was easy enough to bend. Only an idiot or the dead fail to acknowledge and learn from their mistakes. |

Putting Fornax away again - but leaving the bag unzipped for quick access - Micah laughs. "You don't get very far in business without being prepared, and the same applies here. You're right, though. We're assuming that we're not going to have to hold long before our out shows up. We don't have a plan if they don't show up. There's not enough of us to fight our way out, and we don't have an alternate escape route. Our best plan if they don't show? Bend over, put our heads between our legs, and kiss our asses goodbye." Will, who, up to this point, had been watching the exchange with some trepidation, suddenly spoke up. "They are going to get here, right? I mean, what if something bad happened? The Library's everywhere!" Micah shrugged, glancing at Will, and said simply, "They'll get here." |

Desmond nods, smirking slightly. "You'd need something much more powerful than the Library to stop Jagd. He'll be here." He spoke with an air of finality, a tone that brooked no argument. "Did he give you a time when he'd arrive? His men are not late, are they?" |

Callie checks her watch. "They said they'd be here at eight sharp... it's just turning eight now." Micah nods, tail twitching and betraying his nervousness. "Right, then. Final checks - is everything secured? We have everything we need?" There is a quiet buzz of activity suddenly, as the gunsmiths begin checking their cargo, ensuring it's ready for transport. Before joining them, Micah says to Desmond, "If there's anything you need to do before we leave, now's the time to do it." |

Desmond did a few stretches to ensure that the fall did not seriously injure him, though he doubted very much that it would have. After checking to ensure that his weapons were undamaged and being satisfied with their condition, Desmond nods his head. "I am ready for any eventuality, whether leaving or fighting." |
