What.

"That's a good idea." Albus commented. "We do need to know exactly what is going on down there. Maybe I can try to call my sis some time, too. And Kokonoe can give us some info when you contact her." He smiled at Tager's compliment. "Heh, I know I'm doing something right when the Red Devil is impressed." He says. He thinks more about what had happened. "I was pretty ready for what was going to happen, giant ship notwithstanding. I had set up a trap for those guys, and though nobody was hurt by it, it really made me feel prepared. Tsubaki and Ragna being there made me feel like I could take some people down too." He admits. "Rusty had the most trouble I think. He sort of got cornered, but he made it out just fine. Ragna killed at least one guy and was trying to wail on another. Tsu used Izayoi to make these blinds so that the people in them couldn't see. I just threw glass at people. Fucked one guy up good though, and got another in the shoulder." |

That made Tager pause. "So these people now know of your abilities, Scaslivy?" he questioned, nigh instantly. "A shame. The surprise factor could have been extremely useful. Ragna's powers are more than well known and whilst Miss Yayoi's are not as widespread, it won't take people long to realise what Izayoi does. Glass is after all, not the most common of materials for a weapon." There was a pensive sigh as Tager thought to himself. These people were very good for their age. Almost obscenely good. Of course, where they had the power of youth on their side, Tager had experience. And what good was experience for, if not to pass it on? Though at Albus' suggestion, the Red Devil shook his head. "That would be a negative for now, rookie. Think. She's under N.O.L custody and they're bound to have found something, if not on you, then on your Armagus. Which will then be traced back to you. If you contact her while the heat is still on, you're more than likely running into a bugged phone. And then she's in trouble and she's in the heart of an N.O.L base." This wasn't an easy statement to make, he knew. but it had to be said. "You need to leave her alone for a few days. Or she will be dragged into this a bit more forcefully." |

What.

Albus winces at Tager's comment on his sister. "Yeah yeah I know alright!" He snaps back. "I know that they're going to know it's me anytime now and sis will be under a watchful eye. She's probably going to have to come here soon, okay!?" He stops in the hallway once he realizes what he's just said, and, more importantly, how he said it. He rubbed the back of his neck, hiding his eyes under his bangs. "V-vybachte." He says. "I just...sis means a lot to me. She's the only one in my family that gave a shit about me. You can guess how much her involvement worries me, as useful as she is." He stops his rubbing. "I...don't know what I'd do if she got caught." He chuckles humorlessly. "I think that's my main weakness in this whole thing. Everybody has to have one, eh?" Spoiler: click to toggle

The outburst was expected. Tager had seen it far too many times from other soldiers. He also could understand the boy's feelings on the matter. He didn't want her involved, but she was vital to their plans. However, he had to say it. "The bond between brother and sister is very strong, it seems." He mentioned, pushing up his glasses again. Surely Kokonoe could have fixed this problem by now? Or maybe she did it to irritate him. After all, they never slipped whilst he fought in battle. "But never doubt yourself, Albus. Think about this, your sister probably feels the exact same way you do. Do you want to let her down? Or would you rather show her what her brother can do?" The question hung, a dare to rise to the challenge. "The only thing you have to ask yourself is, say if she does get captured. What do you do?" The face of the oni was once again impassive, not judging, just showing no emotions whatsoever. After a brief moment, Tager just nodded. "Another time, let's try and find that radio." |

What.
|
Tager's words slowly snap Albus back into his normal self. He grins, raising his head so that Tager can read it again. "Heh, you're right." He said relaxed. "We're both taking risks. If one of us gets caught, we just get in and pull them out." 'Though if anyone tries to hurt Oksana, I'll tear them apart with my own hands.' Albus' expression does not betray the dark thought. He still has the same happy and thankful expression as he sets of down the hallway again. He glances back at Tager as they walk. "...Thanks by the way, Tager." |

Tager just chuckled, a soothing sound despite his frame. "Not a problem, rookie. You've got a long way to go, but you'll be just fine." Walking alongside Albus again, the Red Devil began to think. Hmm, seems like my faith was realised. These people know what they're doing and are fully prepared to go the distance. It's not a pleasant thought, but it's a reassuring one. "Now, onto you, Scaslivy. Do you have any queries for myself? It should only be fair. A conversation has two people, does it not?" He then smirked slightly. "No matter WHAT language." |

What.

Albus laughs heartily at Tager's joke before he thinks about something to ask. "Well...since I told you about what happened with us at the Duct Tape, how about you tell me what you did before you got here?" |

"Simply put, Kokonoe sent me to help out a band of gunsmiths get out of some N.O.L harassment." The Red Devil began. "I was confused as to why this particular group was important, but seeing that high ranking N.O.L official, well, something had to be done. Luckily, Monoc also had the same idea and I hitched a ride on their vessel. We fought the Captain, but lost the airship, the Sureshot building and two of our forces were injured. Not as high a success rate as your own, you see." Tager didn't seem phased, however. "We're all alive, received a team of gunsmiths and a mercenary. That's what mattered. The threat was neutralised though now we know that they have an extremely powerful wind user on their side. Who doesn't tend to react well to having airships thrown at him. Or being fried by lightning. Not saying that either of those experiences are pleasant normally." Here, the giant looked to Albus. "Now ask me as I asked you. What's the first nagging problem that comes to your head hearing that brief summary?" |

What.

"First of all the seemingly random mission." He answers instantly. "Bunch of gunsmiths? If they were affiliated with the Library or willing to throw you over to them to get out of some sort of trouble, you could've had a lot worse than a wind user fighting you." He shrugs. "If Monoc or Kokonoe trusted them that's a good sign, I guess. But what seemed like a weird mission put you, the Brigand, and whatever Monoc guys were there at risk. And we lost the Brigand, then?" He sighs. "That sucks." He is silent for a moment. "...That was at least close to what you were thinking as well, wasn't it?" |

"More than close. Exactly on the ball. Well done." Tager replied. "I also would have added that we had no idea of his capabilities once again, but this seems to be a running theme for this campaign. We're going to have to continuously gather our intel through guerrilla warfare otherwise this will drag on for far too long and the fervor created by your various strikes will be for naught." The Red Devil continued walking alongside the glasswielder, a mark of respect. "Think of the social impact of what you've achieved. You've thwarted powerful parts of the Library, not once, not twice but up to 4 times by now. The downtrodden are noticing more and more. You've actively stirred the pot and it's now very close to boiling point." The giant stayed silent for a moment, then spoke with importance. "Final question. The N.O.L is purged from the land. We win. What do you do after? What's next for Albus Scaslivy?" |
