Testudinata: Cryptodira: Chelonioids: Protostegids: Giant sea turtles that hunt for jellyfish, sea grasses, and corals. Some are considered as living islands due to the algae and barnacles that call the creatures home. They are found in all temperate and tropical oceans of the world. Dermochelyid: Hunters of jellyfish, slow swimming fish, and oceanic carrion. These somewhat small yet still large sea turtles are sometimes considered the hyenas of the seas. They are found in all tropical, temperate, and subarctic oceans of the world. Adocusia: Adocids: This world's analogs of tortoises. These are the largest terrestrial reptiles besides the archosaurs. They live world wide but are absent from Antarctica. Kinosternoidea: Dermatemydid: North American and South American river turtles. They feed on insects and small fish and they have a interesting color pattern. Polycryptodira: Chelydrid: Snapping turtles or to some, the reason they are missing a finger. These predatory turtles are the second largest turtles with the largest being the size of the average TV set. Baeniodea: Baenid: North American and South American turtles with long tails and digging claws. Testudinoidea: Emydid: The typical red eared sliders, pond turtles, box turtles, and painted turtles. Everything we usually would consider a average turtle. They live world wide Meiolaniformes: Meiolaniids: Horned and spiked tortoises that live in Australia. They look more like ankylosaurs than turtles. Trionychoia: Trionychid: Soft shell turtles, Reptiles that look like sea turtles with tube noses and a leathery shell. They live world wide except for Australia and Antarctica. Pleurodira: Chelids: Australian and South American turtles. Some are very well camouflaged while others look like reptilian jewels.
