Zebras are an unexpectedly successful lineage across multiple universes, including this one. With the flux of our universal super group, cross-temporal species interchanges have been happening across space time, changing the course of history in many universes. Zebras have become an invasive species that has destroyed millions of timelines, including what was once our own timeline.

Zebras were first introduced to our timeline in the Cambrian, but the zebras in question were not normal. They had gills, which allowed them to congregate in the ocean instead of having to adapt to the harsh terrestrial wasteland. In this new timeline, Zebras outcompeted all known kingdoms. Plants, Animals, Fungoids, Bacteria, even viruses, everything could not withstand the superior build of the Zebras.

The oceans "today" are filled with strange alien creatures. Slimy eels, gigantic filter feeders, forests of undersea photosynthetic tissue, and many many other life forms live in these odd waters. The land is even more alien, dominated by thick indigo forests and islands of floating fleshy mass. Many parts of the land are covered in a world-wide megalopolis, built by a single species of crab-walking zebras that grasp objects with their highly modified genitalia.

This new world never had dinosaurs, therapsids, amphibians, or even insects, but it has something infinitely better; The Zebra
