I suffer from social anxiety. Sometimes it's worse than others, but it's bad enough that I've had to stop doing things I used to enjoy due to it. For example, I can't go to concerts and if I go to the mall, it has to be very early in the morning, around 9:00 or 9:30 am, when there isn't a lot of people yet around. I can't go to the circus or to a fair, nor can I be around a lot of people since it triggers episodes of anxiety that can send me to the hospital. Is anyone on that boat too? Does anyone here suffer from social anxiety and cares to relate his/her experiences? |

I don't have the social anxiety, but I am fairly shy around new people (though I warm up to them fairly quickly), and I don't like being in large crowds. They make me feel more alone. So while I'm not in your boat, I've had similar experiences.

Yes, you do seem to have some similar experiences.

The best I can relate to that is compatibility rejection. Unless the person has the same likes as I, thinks like me, or acts like me, I reject them like the plague. (Cant say it applies to the interwebz). Must be the reason the only people I talk to in real life are nerds. |
