Hi Julie,
my puppies will be 12 months on the 18th Aug, we haven't done any real training yet.

My girl started doing the weaves and stopping with her back feet on planks ect, but I was told she was way to young back then (about 8 months old) for weaving as it could cause a spinal injury, so I stopped training her all together and thought I'd just wait until she is a year old as I really didn't want to cause any harm through my lack of knowledge.

I'd really like to get back into it now so wondered what advise and training tips you could give me.

Yep totally agree NO dog should start doing any kind of equipment till they are at least 12 mths and thats said though there is nothing wrong with teaching all young dogs left and right commands and send ons and 2 on 2 off on a flat plank , the weaves shuldn`t be started until 12mths unless you are training channel weaves as this has no bending required at the early stages so can be started a little earlier but no strain should be put on a young still developing dog

Now she has reached 12 mths nothing to hold you back now and really start with the training , little and often is how I keep mine motivated as too much will bore the young Terrier to death

Just watched the olympics equestrian events, I'm thinking I could make the jumps very pretty. :D

I used to use old milk crates and poles for brooms as jumps and canes measured and stuck in the ground for weaves as I couldn`t afford equipment as it doesnt really matter what they look like just that they do the job lol although I would struggle going back to them now lol

I took Diaz to her first training night and we loved it ^_^ she even cried to have another go while we were resting while it was someone else's turn... Its once a week to start with and plenty of homework to do, but we can't wait until we go back again... I think it could be very addictive.
