The aircraft flew quickly over the island's landscape, it was a small place really, easily travelled from end to end in half a week. But of cause, that wasn't including the others he would be facing. What was more cruel, making you fight to the death, or making you fight to the death after you have met your competitors? He was in the first ten to set down on the island, but where he was being placed was... less than desirable. The craft descended in a long continuing marsh ladened with pools of mud and pond scum. Akahi leapt from the craft as it reached the ground, his feet lifting mud as he hit the ground, and without the slightest warning his transport was off again. Akahi heard the wing beats of all sorts of aircraft transporting his various competitors around the island, and for the first time he heard lizard rahi. Akahi lifted the bag slung over his shoulder and slunk it onto the ground in front of him. Within it was some sort of tool, a fire lighter by the looks of it, and with it were instructions as well as a map. When the concept of a supplied weapon was first told to Akahi he more imagined a sword or a launcher, but what was this? As Akahi read some basic instructions given to the device he died slightly inside, several of his transporters had mentioned some of the supplied weapons, machine guns, titan swords, great axes, and what did he get? Some flint and tinder... Akahi reassured himself though, as they had also talked of the less formidable weapons. Apparently one unlucky competitors had been given a potato as weapon as some kind of sick joke. Just think about it, Akahi thought, if he and I were to team up we could have ourselves a nice cooked meal. The Toa smiled at his own jest, but it quickly fell as the situation at hand dug in. Akahi was a Toa of Sonics, a part of a dying breed. If he was to die in this bloody tournament he would carve himself a reputation first, the Order of Mata Nui had already abandoned him, so he wasn't subjected to their rules, but no doubt an ally would make his life substantially easier. But until then he needed to find himself a good location. Edited by BionicalSpork, Mar 18 2013, 06:04 AM.

Akahi had found a decent location, he had moved on from the muddy pond he had been left in by the Ix and had found himself a location he was happy to call home... well, as happy as you could be in a marsh. Several times throughout the day the sounds of other competitors were caught in the Toa of Sonics keen ears, but never enough to know much about them, or where they were. Akahi had read the given 'instructions' of the so called Blazemaster, the fire lighting tool probably given as a joke by the Ix. From reading it Akahi knew even more how unfortunate a weapon he had been given. At the absolute most the tool could beat an unarmed man, or someone with immediate affliction to flame, but overall Akahi would have to rely more on his wit and his abilities to win any battles. Because of this penalty Akahi had ensured this entire time that he had made no detectable sound, any action that would produce any Akahi had muted with his sonic abilities. If someone was to find him they needed to see him, and hopefully that would be difficult. Akahi had chosen a slight indentation in the ground as his home, it could accommodate his whole body when lying down, and the depth of it would ensure he was unnoticeable by anyone more than ten metres away. Overall the ditch spread across three metres in a rough circle, it was more of a waterless pond truly. If ever the situation required Akahi to hide, it would be done here. The Toa doubted he would ever use it but as someone he knew once said, "It is better to have a spear and not use it, than not have a spear at all." |

Kanosi The titanic Toa was finding it difficult to adjust to the boggy ground of the marsh, every few minutes his feet would dig into the muddy ground, and it was starting to get on the Toa's nerves. Can't any part of the bloody island be civilised? Kanosi said under his breath. With every step the faintest squish of moist soil could be heard, this was not Kanosi's chosen ground. Anything however would be better than an environment where the titan couldn't see his bodies length a head of him. Kanosi hadn't bothered following the map, he found it difficult to read and was relying on his own immediate senses for aid, whoever he hadn't even seen another competitor yet - at least not on the island. The only thing his senses had gifted him was the sound of a river, and the smell of a swamp; not exactly the two most useful facts. Alas Kanosi continued his pace, hoping to at least see another competitor and prove to himself he wasn't completely alone here. |

Akahi Akahi listened intently as the squelches of heavy footsteps echoed across the marsh. No other ears would hear this, that was for sure. Akahi had the keenest ears of any competitor, being the only Toa of sonics, that was a given. But who was this other competitor? The Being was no doubt within a kilometre, maybe within 500 metres, Akahi had been listening intently to the travels of the being for 20 minutes. Whoever this creature was, he was large. Akahi only now began actively looking for the being with his eyes, previously being too distracted by his own ears, now whoever the creature was coming into view. A...a Titan Akahi whispered to himself, his own voice laced with something almost describable as reluctance. This was the first time Akahi had actually seen a competitor on the island, oppose to just hearing them. He would not let himself be defeated by cowardice before his first combat. But as the being grew closer something Akahi had hoped he wouldn't come across came into eye-shot. The being was a Toa, a brother, an enforcer of law, how could Akahi kill him? How would Akahi kill him anyway, the Toa was nearly twice Akahi's height, he wielded some sort of blade, and he almost oozed strength. If Akahi couldn't kill him, perhaps he could recruit him. Akahi had already set his sights on an ally, and if this Toa was to aid him, they would both reek the benefits. "Can't any part of this bloody island be civilised?" The Toa spat under his breath, unhearable to most. The Toa was around 100 metres away now, soon Akahi would have to show himself, but how... he had not yet thought of. The Toa was heading strait for Akahi, if Akahi did not show himself it was likely the Toa would see him. Just as the Toa was 10 metres away Akahi revealed himself, lifting himself from the ground and locking eye to eye with the other Toa. Edited by BionicalSpork, Mar 19 2013, 10:16 AM.

Continued from: http://w11.zetaboards.com/The_Eternal_Game_RPG/topic/8577968/1/?x=0#post8104485 Kanosi As Kanosi begrudgingly continued his steps, something unexpected broke his chain of thought. A Toa seemed to appear out of nowhere just a stone's throw away from him. Kanosi nearly jumped with shock, but his instincts took over, he drew his cutlass-pistol and prepared a combat stance. Before he would make a move, he would see what his opponent didn't choose to do in an ambush. Edited by BionicalSpork, Mar 19 2013, 10:42 AM.

Akahi The Titan shifted to a combat stance and drew his weapon at the sight of Akahi, but showed the reluctance to dive into combat. Thank Mata Nui Akahi thought to himself. Akahi recognised the Titan from his first awakening, he had seen the Titan before, but had not spoken to him. There's no need for that, Akahi began. You and I are both Toa's, are we not? We are both brothers sworn to our duties, why bare arms against each other when there are much fouler things we can face together. Akahi gave a moment for the opponent to respond. |

Kanosi The Toa who had appeared several moments ago was now speaking of the duties of Toa's. What was Kanosi to do? He followed the laws of the Toa with each fibre of his being, but with his life on the line, how could he ensure his own colonies' safety if he died in this game? Kanosi would give this Toa the right to speak, before he made his decision. |

Akahi Akahi eventually ended his short speech, this Toa had the feeling of honour around him, he seemed like the fellow to warn you before he would crack open your skull, perhaps words of honour were indeed the right choice to convince him to Akahi's cause. This however was a battle to the death with only one winner, that fact could just be a spanner in the works of this attempt. |

Kanosi The Toa spoke his final few sentences, and seemed to await an answer as to whether or not Kanosi would join with him. The Toa was right, they were both Toa's, he and this fellow of sonics were brothers, and what better grounds for an alliance are there than that? Ok, brother. You have yourself an ally. My name's Kanosi by the way. With those simple words it seemed official, the two of them were in this fight together, as kin. |

Akahi and Kanosi Keep quiet! Akahi hissed at Kanosi, . Sorry... sorry... Kanosi said in reply, he wasn't the brightest thing, but he tried his best to do what Akahi asked of him, because overall despite their differences they were both in this fight together. Akahi began to focus, drowning out his other senses just temporarily to better his hearing. There was several sounds echoing out over the marshes, large lizards, various flies, but there was another sound that interested Akahi. The sound of other competitors could be heard ever so faintly, no doubt out of natural earshot. Akahi's sonic abilities were once again at use, but what were the competitors doing? The sounds that he heard were little more than indistinguishable snippets of conversation. "Wh'... go hunt th... rahi of... I'll ... gu'a." It was hardly worth interpretation. They were out there alright, but they were so far away they were almost not a threat. When are we going to move on? I'm tired of mud and slime Kanosi said aloud, as if he had forgotten his promise of silence just a few moments ago. Akahi would let him off though, even though Akahi was essentially using him as a spider used it's fangs Akahi had taken a liking to Kanosi. He was honest and tried his best to choose the right action, even if his mind sometimes limited him. Akahi had been away from other Toa's for a while, if he did make it out of the games alive, perhaps the Order of Mata Nui might take him back... and with that thought Akahi began a faint day dream.
