Continued from: http://w11.zetaboards.com/The_Eternal_Game_RPG/topic/8610501/3/#new After quite some hours worth of travel, the trio had finally made it to the proposed destination. A lush wood with many open spots in between and most importantly, a large river of the source of all life; water. The blue snake flowed through the landscape like a streak of paint drawn in carefully in a painting full of green. The sun was certainly shining after the previous night, which had been filled with rain, lots of it to be precise. Yet, the harsh reality of this game never seemed to actually fade away as the surrounding areas all produced sounds of harsh and vicious battles with lives as the prize. Screams and shouts, sounds of swords clashing and gunshots were audible from every corer of the wind in this area. It seemed quite tranquil here though. Seemed. The obvious truth was that there were proably many other contestants lurking around here, seeking for either rest or prey. For now though, the most important part of this was aiding in Quartz's recovering. As Jabberwock approached the riverbed, he picked the matoran up from his back and dropped him gently in the water. The purity of this particulary untained flow was amazing and would probaly help the sickest of beings recover. Jabberwock gestured to Harlen to take a drink and a rest too, while the Giant would keep watch on any approaching hostilities. |

Harlen took another rest as he lay down on the river bank. He had already washed his armour using the river's water, its cooling sensation was a stark contrast to the rest of the island. He didn't want to rest for long, though. The many hours spent travelling to the river had worn him down and he still hadn't recovered from the previous night's affairs. His muscles ached, but that was not all. His mind did not feel right. He was not as angry as he usually was, and while normally a good thing, it worried him. His anger was a way for him to let out all of his problems, and while shoving a spear through some lunatic's eye (Xicous) could have been angry, it wasn't. He did it out of fear. That was his problem--he needed to regain his confidence. While he was certain that he would die in this accursed arena, he would at least not die a coward. He glanced at the Pain's Edge beside him, the morning light flashed across its cold metal. It pained him to just look at the blade. Harlen then closed his eyes, for what he hoped would relieve him of his physical ills. He would have to put some effort in if he wanted to sort out his mental attitude. |

Jabberwock An awful lot of noise was audible, quite close by. A large beign was also visble from above the trees. As it ascended higher, it became clear as a day it was in fact, levitating. "Harlen, Quartz. I am going to see what this being is all about. Please disregard me should your own safety come into peril. It is neccesary to defeat a danger of my own size" With these final short words, Jabberwock got up and started sprinting towards the direction he had seen the large being go to. Akisame Akisame continued from here: http://w11.zetaboards.com/The_Eternal_Game_RPG/topic/8664925/3/ As Akisame had been wandering about since his last encounter with the four beings that had effectively chased him away, Akisame had no actual idea of where he was going. Close by, there were alot of presences he could sense now, and one was familiar, leaving two others behind. Akisame decided it was best to check on those he left behind. If they're his allies, I'm going to have company soon too it would seem. Let's hope it is in fact good company... Akisame apporached the two beings, one was a rather muscular and robust looking Toa of Radiation while the other was a Matoran of Stone. The Matoran though, seemed to be ill. "A rather good day fellow competitors. It would seem you are friends of Jabberwock, who just sprinted off. I'm a friend too, so would you agree into letting me join your alliance?" OOC: Yes, doing a character swap here. I need Jabberwock elsewhere at the moment but I simultanously wish to keep playing with Harlen and Quartz, so hence my use of Akisame. |

Harlen nodded to Jabberwock as he left further down the river to the sight of someone 'levitating'. Harlen hoped it wasn't much, but for the time being it was just him and Quartz. A troubled toa and a sick matoran, their chances of survival seemed grim. All he wanted was for Quartz to recover because he had the gun. Harlen looked up into the darkening sky as the clouds rolled on, the faintest sounds of a storm lingering perilously close to the arena. Then something caught his attention, he had barely sensed it. A being was approaching them cautiously. He had detected the strange source of infra-red radiation a little while earlier, but Harlen figured it was nothing, thinking his fatigue was playing mind games with him. Suddenly, a voice. Still paying attention to the heat, all Harlen could pick up was 'Jabberwock', 'friend' and 'alliance'. This far into the game any being could easily put on a facade of friendliness, hiding a mass of restless thoughts behind it. Harlen shot up to face the voice, seeing a being clad in a fiery red armour with black hints across it. The being also had a strange body shape. A martial artist of some kind. Harlen figured. He meagerly raised the Pain's Edge off the ground, pointing it at the newcomer. "Who are you?" he called. Edited by Rando07, Apr 15 2013, 06:23 PM.

IC: Quartz Quartz wearily opened his eyes at the sound of the newcomer's voice, flipping off the safety mechanism on his Switchblade-bullpup. He was weak, shaky, and his sense of balance wasn't quite right, but his mind was clear, and his Order training hummed in the background of his brain. Trust actions, not words. An' even then, keep a wary eye and restless trigger finger. "Who are you?" called Harlen suspiciously, hefting the massive sword Jabberwock had given him. And Quartz said nothing, but the cold glint in his amber eyes was enough to show his agreement. |

" I am Akisame, master of martial arts. My goal here is not to kill you or anyone at all. I just need to protect the allies of my friends" As a gesture of trust, Akisame dropped down his gauntlet shield in front of him. He was actually alot faster and stronger without it, but it would suffice in making him seem more harmless. He sat down into a calm posture, resting on his lwoer legs with his knees in front. " You don't need to trust me, but I refuse to attack you" |

Harlen gave the being a hard look for a few moments before finally lowering his blade. He noticed the being lay Harlen's gauntlet shield in front of him, a weapon he thought he would never see again. "You don't need to trust me, but I refuse to attack you." the being claimed, kneeling down towards Quartz and him. He glanced at his weapon again, clearly a burden for someone with a repertoire composed of only hand-to-hand techniques. The Pain's Edge now by his feet, Harlen turned away and lay down in the grass. Harlen cautiously went to fetch the gauntlet shield laying in front of Akisame and backed away. "What do you think, Quartz?" Harlen asked to the po-matoran as a critical eye scanned the gauntlet shield in his hand. Testing its elemental channelling abilities, a radiant orange glow was cast from the tip of the shield's bladed edge. Harlen grinned slightly, dropping the Pain's Edge to the ground. |

IC: Quartz Quartz chose not to reply directly to Harlen's question, instead directing his words at Akisame. "If you're truly a friend of Jabberwock's, I'd be proud t' call you ally." said the Po-Matoran slowly, shifting the weight of his Switchblade-bullpup to his other hand. "But one false move, and... well, this weapon does more than just look cool, I'll warn you." |

"I know that weapon and Iknow it's true powers" Akisame replied. It belongs to another good friend of mine, the one I'm searching for.." Akisame got up and used his aura to sense the battle that was taking away a distance of about 70 bio. The roars that now were audible all over the place indicated Jabberwock had gotten truly serious. "I'm not sure what to do, but I think we need to avoid that place" Akisame gestured to the palce the roars originated from. "That'll be certain death" |

The moment Akisame finished speaking another incredibly loud roar rattled his ears, followed shortly by an incessant ringing. Harlen shook his head in disbelief and shuddered slightly. "I agree." he finally said. Strange sources of electromagnetic radiation had been emanating from the marshlands since Jabberwock had left them, only continuing to grow from that moment on. Harlen was well aware of the danger. He had never sensed such a strong source of radiation before, nor had he witnessed the strength rise so quickly. |
