Quartz swore under his breath, lurching to his feet. Water splashed from his Order-issued protosteel armor, trickling back to the river from whence it had come.

Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust.

He rubbed his forehead, staggering slightly. Still, he was feeling enormously better, compared to several hours ago. And there was nothing like two titanic duelists within a half-mile to get you out of a 'no-can-do' attitude.

"I think..." he said slowly, "that I could walk, if it ain't too far a distance."

Jevson had been following a river out of the swamp from above, hoping to escape to somewhere outside of the Shadowdermis' range. Now he was following a rather quaint floodplain. He could see footprints in the mud now and then, but they were either too erratic to discern a competitor's motion, or they simply belonged to the local wildlife. He was quickly flying over the area. He'd reach something interesting eventually.

Then, something caught the mutant Rahkshi's eye. There were three beings below him. Strange. He didn't expect anyone to make alliances larger than a simple pair. He would have to reconsider some strategies.

He assessed the beings. One was a Po-Matoran. Not much to him. Big and muscular, he was probably more of a brawler than a strategist.

The other was a robotic beast of some sort. Large, dangerous looking, and dyed a crimson read. Probably one of the group's deadlier members.

Then the Rahkshi caught sight of the silver Toa. Probably magnetism or some element that wouldn't do much damage to Jevson. Convenient, he thought.

The voice entered his mind. "Time for some fun?" Blackwind hissed delightedly through Jevson's mind.

The Rahkshi smiled. "I think so."

Jevson had to separate the Toa from the group first. Not exactly the hardest thing to do, as long as he stood still. The Rahkshi began concentrating his gravity powers and started to create a portal structure. He linked it to an area not far away where he could take the Toa down.

That Toa would have to have great reflexes to avoid the portal. Jevson hoped he had not underestimated the Toa's abilities.

A portal tore open under Harlen's feet.

OOC: Beginning the fight with Rando. It's up to him if Harlen falls into the portal or not.

Stunned by the sudden portal that ripped through the earth beneath his feet, Harlen lost his balance and fell through the strange opening.

He tumbled out into a grassy area nearby the river, falling flat on his face into the soft ground. Catching a glimpse of the surrounding area before shaking his head Harlen realised that it was not far from where he was earlier.

Damn Ix. he mused while attempting to recover from the strange occurrence. He didn't think the games could get any worse, but he was about to receive the shock of his life.

((Harlen: Continued in Outrage))

(OOC: Harlen dropped the Pain's Edge before he fell through the portal, just in case anyone's wondering.)

With shock, Akisame watched as his new ally, the Toa, was sucked into a portal of some sorts. Immediatly, Akisame activated verything he possessed to locate other beings, but it had made it's escape already, leaving only a trail of energy behind that was undiscernable.

The Toa had dropped his weapon, a sword, while being sucked in, but he had managed to hold onto the weapon Akisame had given him, whih also happened to be this being's original weapon.

Picking the sword up, Akisame looked at the Matoran. He'd need some swift action to save their ally.

Quartz had never actually seen a portal in real life, but he knew one when he saw it. Countless hours of Order training would do that to a person, even if you actually spent half the time trying to avoid getting punished for sleeping while the instructor was talking. He was not a book learner; hands-on was his specialty.

But that was irrelevant. Akisame was looking at him now, his eyes asking the question: You in, or out?

Quartz hefted his Switchblade-bullpup, deactivating the safety mechanism. "Not sure what we can do, buddy, but I ain't leavin' that Toa to die. Better t' go down a hero than a coward, I reckon. You got a plan?"

The Instructor
(( Polemistis continued from: http://w11.zetaboards.com/The_Eternal_Game_RPG/topic/8712406/1/#new ))

Polemistis examined these figures from atop a tree which protected him from average view as he took the time to heal himself. If combat were to happen, he would need to move quickly—and the state he was in wasn't good enough to keep him alive. Slowly crouching into the trees as he decreased the pain from his torso and legs, he prepared for the encounter.
