Tuesday 30th of December 2008

Well it is the second last day of the year that was 2008.

The year has been good and bad for me this year. First of all the first half of the year was good. I started working in the preschool room at my now old centre. The kids were not that bad, and they seemed to be really good. Of cause we had our odd bad day, but who doesn't. I seemed to work well with my assistant, though they would always constantly go out of the room, which kind of annoyed me.

I then went to World Youth Day in July, and that was great. But after coming back to work, everything went downhill from there. Certain kids were getting to me, and a couple of staff were really annoying me. All in all from mid July through to the end of October just got me down. I actually broke down a couple of times at work because certain children were not doing what was asked of them, and I felt that I was getting no help at all.

But then there was an upside to this: I put in for a transfer. Though this was not going as well as I had hoped. So the second week into hearing nothing, I started to look for myself. So by the last day before holidays I was offered a position at another centre, and that ended my 5 1/2 years at being at an ABC centre.

After my 2 weeks holidays I was ready to have a fresh start at a new centre. I am so glad that I did. The centre's atmosphere is so much more friendlier, and the staff and families are great. Above all the kids are so much more well behaved than they were where I was originally. I am up to my 7th week at the centre, and I am loving it!

Bring on 2009!
