The Night Is Darkest Just Before The Mass
|
Well, I used to love this show when I was kid, but I grew out of it as I got older a bit. It is one of the greatest anime series' of all time though and I was a huge fan of alot of characters. I loved Tien, Nappa, Raditz, Captain Ginyu, Frieza, Krillin, Piccolo and Nail... Was an awesome time watching this when I was a kid everyday at around 5 on Toonami. Anyone else love this anime? |

Pft, nah it sucks....Kidding. I've loved this anime for a long time. Kind of fallen out of interest the past few years but since I was 4 for a good solid decade this anime was always in my top and I could have any serious conversation you wanted about it from power specifics so character synopsis and so on, right on the spot if need be. Now a day I feel a bit retired from the show. I enjoy the TFS parodies and other memes for laughs. I might catch an episode or two randomly if I'm in the mood but beyond that my memory of the shows gone down so I need to always do a little bit of more detailed research before I can get into deep conversations like I used to. DBZ was one of the best animes to create a standard/base for all these other animes now coming about. It's definitely a classic now. |

Loved it as a kid. Now if I watch it, I get depressed because I can picture sagas with points in my life. So obviously, I stay away from it now. But yeah HAPPY THOUGHTS

Happy thoughts indeed, just think of the time when Frieza cut his body with his own disk and how hilarious that was because he landed straight on his face. (maybe that's not happy idk?) |

Love this so much. Re-watched the films + the series recently. I started re-watching GT, seen first 20 episodes. It isn't as bad as people say, but no where near as good as Z. |

Haha, Merc you remind me of my friend who rewatched the whole series from start to finish in like 3 months.. he is nuts about DBZ series and GT. IWTB, I also picture some of DBZ with my life, along with the DBZ trading card game.... just like I have bouts where I picture with WoW.

Wow, 3 months, not bad. I generally get 25 episodes in about a week or so if I get into it. Not sure how long it would take for me to watch all of DBZGT |

Watching all of DBZ only took me about 2 and half months, but I was like watching it every day at some point. No idea how many each day. GT has taken me over a month maybe month and half. Just can't get into it. After first 20 episodes it gets good but. |

Curious, what was everyones favorite part of the series, whether it was GT or DB, or Dragonball. My favorite saga was Saiyin saga, followed by Freiza saga. I felt they were the most interesting of them all and those were going on when I enjoyed DBZ the most. The characters during those sagas were also awesome in my opinion... |

Android-Cell-Cell Games. You really saw a development of characters beyond the normal good guy bad guy bits. 16 is the killing machine that really innocently loves. 17 is the troublemaker that seems extremely cold but confused. 18 is the cold outside but tenderly motherly inside character. 19 is the child like man. 20/Gero is the evil doctor that is so insane he coverts himself into an android just to see the world burn under his creations. Cell is the form of pure evil, seemly unstoppable even when he is blown to atoms. Then you see character development from all the Normal Z fighters. Goku is the loving, goofy father that sees what power his own child has and sort of steps aside out of the light to jet Gohan into it. Gohan we see as the unknowingly extreme powerhouse that still doesn't under the potential he has or the way the world works (the 16 head smash scene ties the two traits in a nice ribbon IMO). Piccolo we see take on a much more fatherly approach, then he takes a large jump all the way back to Sayian Saga with him angrily acting as "King" Piccolo when talking about dealing with the Androids and Cell, then back to mentor for most of everyone at the cell games. Vegeta we see a massive change in these sagas, with him being with Bulma and Trunks and how Trunks pans out and what passion he has. Then we see him accept that he isn't the best when he swallows his pride and pretty much helps gohan with Cell. Krillin. KRILLIN! Was the joker, but pushed himself out of his shell again even in the face of certain death, fell in total love. We see a re-kindling of old great character but moderate fighters that shuffle back. All animated very nicely, and in bright fresh colors. Just a real great saga overall to me. |
