Oh this is providential timing. I downloaded this book for free on my Kindle. It is called, "Not Like My Mother". I will provide a link. It is supposed to be for parenting but anyone who has grown up in dysfunction could benefit from this book. I had an alcoholic father and her tips have helped me immensely and I'm not even finished with it. I was starting to see things in my parenting that I didn't like and wanted to know how to correct them. As in people pleasing, not rocking the boat with my daughter so she wouldn't cry, not sticking to my guns as my mom would do. Those sort of things. Here is the link.

When I had my kids (actually before...my whole LIFE) I knew I didn't want to raise them the way my mother raised me. I would do anything to save them from that. Then my mother-in-law was there. She married my father-in-law when she was 20, moved in with him and within 2 weeks, his ex-wife passed away and his 3 children (13, 5 and 3) came to live with them. She was already pregnant. She raised all those kids with love and affection, she never ridiculed them, she was honest with them and quiet. Only One Time I've heard her raise her voice! But she was the boss, none of the kids mouthed off to her! I think we select those to emulate...and I selected her!

Her obituary:

In Memory of
Cassandra Lynn Hensley
August 15, 1979 - January 15, 2014

Although most famous for her successful modeling career, Cassandra Lynn Hensley accomplished more than most in her 34 years. She was a beloved wife, caring mother and best friend to many.

She was born and raised in Ferron, Utah but soon after turning 18 moved to California starting her own business and tanning salon. However, her beauty and contagious personality quickly landed her a career as a bikini model and she was eventually featured as Playmate of the Month in the February, 2006 issue of "Playboy."

However, it would be a mistake to only remember her career since her biggest accomplishments were not documented on the covers of magazines. Her husband, Gary, and children Alexis (12) and Devin (6) were the loves of her life. You could often find her baking cupcakes with Alexis or cooking the whole family pancakes on Saturday mornings proving that she was as beautiful inside as she was out. Gary and Cassandra enjoyed a shared love of motorcycles and after a few attempts at driving lessons, she recently got her license and first bike.

Cassandra will be remembered for many things including her stunning looks, warm smile, contagious laugh and kind heart.

Arrangements under the direction of Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park & Mortuary, Costa Mesa, CA.

So she was married but had sex with the photographer before she died? This is all so sad. I hope she is at peace now. I feel bad for her family, especially her children.

Well, that's what he said...maybe she did or didn't. We won't ever know...knowing she's married, it was extremely tacky of him to say it either way. A little discretion wouldn't have been out of line.

I think maybe he disclosed those details because of the nature of her death.
