Green juice
1 apple, 1 banana, 1 lemon (yes the whole thing, minus peel), couple celery stalks (or cucumber, whichever you like) , about an inch of fresh ginger. a few leaves of kale (its super good for you, but bitter), cup of spinach, 1 carrot, a tablespoon of coconut oil, a clove of garlic (you can't taste it), a bit of parsley, and water/ice. Sometimes I add in greek yogurt also. You can also add whatever other fruits you like, but the banana helps keep you full, the lemon helps with weight loss (and taste). Garlic is also optional, I add it in for other health reasons (good for blood pressure, heart health, great for your lady parts, etc, the taste is covered by the fruit and parsley and yogurt)

I like the vitamix because you can put the whole fruit/veggie right in (minus the apple seeds, lemon peel) and it's still smooth enough to drink. I don't know how other blenders work though.

I put it all into my vitamix (that my ex bought me, best thing i got outta that relationship) and blend it for a bit until smooth.

Most important thing is fresh ingredients.
the first time you start drinking it, it may make your stomach grumbly - it's only temporary, its from all the fresh greens that does it.
That sounds good! I'm going to going to try it. I've been wanting to try these green smoothies. I've gained weight this semester, I blame stress from graduate school :-/

Oh yeah, and the ripe bananas really help to sweeten it. If your bananas are about to go bad, just peel them and put them in a baggie in the freezer to use. If it's still not sweet enough for you, you can add honey, agave nectar, or stevia. But don't add sugar.

I never would have thought about that. Those are really good tips!
