My sister and I always watch the Christmas episode on Christmas day... It's our little cheesy tradition.

The hubby bought me the book this year too as a stocking stuffer. He also got me the full boxed set. It seems like he gets better and better with gifts each year and I just suck lately. I had like 2 or 3 bad Christmases in a row and it kinda ruined it for me. Hopefully now that I have a daughter I perk up again.

I finished the GND book. Most of it I already knew but the recipes are nice to have. There are also some photos I had not seen before. Wish they would have put more actual candids in there because everything looked retouched. The menu for the Midsummer Night's Dream party is huge! I couldn't believe how much food they serve. If anyone is interested I can scan that part in.

I still need to get the book, I would love it! Have you gotten to try any of the recipes yet? I did Brig's cottage cheese dip a long time ago. It was good for parties.

Ohhh interesting. I had no idea the book had recipes. Are there recipes from each girl, or from the mansion staff? Interesting considering those gals didn't cook while there! hahah. What was Kendras recipe, "drive to Olive Garden and order" hahah

Lol, yeah Kendra's recipes were mostly chicken and from the mansion staff. Holly's recipes were from her mom and yes they had some mansion recipes. I got the feeling in general that Kendra didn't have a lot to do with the book. I'll try get the part scanned in. Got the In-Laws coming over. Ugh...my mil has been driving me crazy since my daughter was born. But that is a story for another time.

So do I! I'm glad I'm not the only one! Christmas, Valentine's and Easter are my favs. I love it when Bridget makes Holly, Kendra and Hef confetti heart cakes. I also love the fact that she has bitchface while she's doing it. Resting bitchface-the one that will show itself when she's not "on".

Astralia, do you think you could either scan or post the recipe for Hef's lambchops? It's the sole reason that I'd be interested in the book. They always looked so good on the show...

I am watching the commentary for the second season of GND and Holly is driving me nuts. I actually stopped watching it. She talks over everyone. Especially when Kendra, in rare moments, tries to tell a story or say something. When the scene is clearly not about her you can tell she totally tunes out, like most of Kendra's 21st bday epi.

Then when there are awkward moments or someone says something that I think she thinks Hef wouldn't like, then she glosses it over. She is trying to make everything seem so perfect or to Hef's liking. Hopefully the later seasons aren't this bad and she chills a little bit.

Yeah those 1st seasons Holly drove me nuts too! I think she does get better in the later commentaries though.
