Kendra Wilkinson was taken to the hospital following a bad car accident in L.A.'s Tarzana neighborhood, Us Weekly can confirm. The Girls Next Door alum, 27, was spotted going into Providence Tarzana Medical Center early in the day on April 21.

A source tells Us that Wilkinson -- wife of former NFL wide receiver Hank Baskett III and mom to son Hank Baskett IV, 3 -- was "in shock" and "really sore" after the accident. Doctors examined her to determine what the damage was to her body and whether she had broken any bones, but it appears her injuries were not serious.

"She was taken in earlier," a second source tells Us of the former Playboy model. "She was discharged already."
A rep for the star did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Incidentally, Wilkinson recently expressed fears about getting hurt on the ABC diving competition Splash, leading her to abandon the show earlier this month. "I'm so sorry, everybody. It's bittersweet. One thing I don't do is quit. This is the first time in my life I've quit something," she said. "This will haunt me for the rest of my life."
"Big mistake signing up for the show," she tweeted later. "Sorry I let you all down."

It sounds like she might be okay but car accidents are always scary. I lost my father-in-law to one (his mom was with him in the same accident). A car accident can go bad quickly, his car caught on fire and he couldn't make it out.

Very scary! Does anyone one else remember that model in the nineties (don't remember her name) who got in a car accident, was very shaken up, but thought she was ok. Even walked away.... But then hours afterwards was hospitalized for internal injuries and almost died. She was in the hospital a couple of weeks.

I wonder what caused the accident.

Here is an article with a pic of her wrecked car. Pretty bad accident and she is lucky to walk away fairly unscathed.

bunny, I think you are talking about Nikki Taylor? She also had scars on her stomach that ended her modeling career.

Yeah and to top it off it was on his birthday. He had just turned 55. And it was evidently a slow news day, so the local news had it all over the place. My husband and I worked at the same company and were driving home together, we heard about it on the radio before we actually got the call. They did not say the names but my husband had a bad feeling when he heard the radio announcement. It was all very bizarre. I have a subtle form of PTSD when it comes to accidents, even seeing Kendra's brings up all those feelings again.

I can't believe they would talk about anything with enough detail for a family to piece something together before they were called. It's just not right. Back in 76, the same thing happened to my grandfather. He saw my mothers car and could tell it was her on a stretcher before he got the call. On top of that, had to get my brother who was around 10 at the time out of the room before he could catch a glimpse...so wrong

Oh that is weird. Yeah you have to protect the kids from that. Some things they just shouldn't have to deal with until they are older.

Yes! Thank you very much! How weird, nothing about her in the media for 5469787 years and then today on yahoo...

They talk briefly about her car accident at the very end of the article.

I remember Niki Taylor. She had a younger sister Krissy who was also a model. Niki found her unconscious. She had an acute asthma attack. Here's the link to her wiki

I remember when it happened and reading about it in People magazine. It was so sad, and she was only 17

I remember hearing about it when it happened, too. I was still young but my older sisters subscribed to seventeen magazine and knew of them.
