We, the members and duly elected leaders, of the Scientific Corps Space Exploration and Research Department, along with the Diplomatic Corps, Judicial Corps and Military Conclave have drawn up a treaty regarding the use of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs) in outer space. Defining outer space as: The area surrounding the planet outside of the o-zone layer, including all celestial bodies (the moon, planets, stars ect.) Defining a WMD as: Any weapon that relies on Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear materials to cause wide spread destruction to an enemy force or nation. With these definitions we propose that the Grand Coalition adopts the following resolutions: Banning the test and use of WMDs in the following situations: Orbiting the planet, based on the moon, on another planet (uninhabited and inhabited from orbit), around a star or in any celestial body in an area of zero gravity in the known universe. The following weapons would fall under this category: Nuclear weapons including but not limited to: bombs and missiles. Chemical weapons including but not limited to: Blister agents such as Sulphur mustards such as mustard gas, Nitrogen mustards ect. Nerve agents such as Sarin gas, Tabun, Somin. Blood agents such as Cyanogen chloride, Hydrogen cyanide. Choking agents such as Chloropicrin, Phosgene, Diphosgene, Chlorine. Biological weapons including but not limited to: biological toxins or infectious agents such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi with intent to kill or incapacitate humans, animals or plants as an act of war. Radiological weapons including but not limited to: Dirty and salted bombs and missiles. Citing the recent advances in not only the technology of the can in space exploration and colonisation, but also her allies and other nations might cause weapons to be placed in outer space for defensive and offensive purposes. Further suggesting the formation of a Grand Coalition Space Administration or similar entity to enforce this treaty and help to further advance the space faring capabilities of the Grand Coalition. Noting that weapons such as Brimestone, and incendiary substance fielded by the CNA military, and the recently obtained thermite-ice bombs, while destructive on a mass level, might not be considered WMDs, and there for might be exempt from this treaty. Signed, Trey Williams Space Exploration and Research Department Wolf Xalian Supreme Commandant, CNA Military Conclave Zoe Holub Supreme Diplomat, CNA Diplomatic Corps Amirah Angelic Supreme Justiciar, CNA Judicial Corps |

Well, a new bill. Perhaps it will pass, perhaps not. Either way it makes regional security weaker. These weapons should not be banned. But hey, my counterparts will be glad to know space is an open door. |
