During the 23rd TB, Roshi said the guys had outstripped him to the point where he played no more role at all in their lives (or at least Tenshinhan's). Chapter: 166, P10.1 Tenshinhan: “Lord Muten Roshi, are you not going to be entering this time?” Kame-sennin: “I’m gonna give it a pass. I’m no longer any match for you guys.” Chapter: 169, P3.3 Kame-sennin: “These three here [Goku, Kuririn, Yamcha] are no longer part of the Kame-sen School, and Tenshinhan never was to begin with. They’ve all surpassed me and are blazing their own trails.” Chapter: 170, P13.3 Kame-sennin: “Wow…To think that [Tenshinhan]’s grown into that great a martial artist…I no longer have any role to play at all…” What do you think the strength gap between them was? Next up, during the fight with C19, I noticed SSj Goku lacked an aura after he got attacked by the android, who had just absorbed his Kamehameha. Maybe I'm forgetting another instance of this, but I think this is the first and only time an un-mastered Super Saiyan lacked an aura. Even Vegeta while getting his ass kicked by C18 and Cell had an aura. Spoiler: click to toggle The last page is after Goku ate a senzu bean, and he still lacked an aura. |

Well for the first one, enough that Chaozu should be capable of stomping Roshi. Whether or not that includes Buff Roshi depends on whether or not you believe that Ki weighted form is suitable enough for battle that he takes it into account in various other statements regarding his placing. For the second part, without resorting to "Toriyama's not 100% consistent" or any similar scapegoats, the simplest answer is Goku having more strain on him than any other SSJ showed in battle. An illness that damages your heart and a loss of stamina coming from the failure of such a vital organ is going to be far critical and depleting than muscle damage from getting your ass kicked. |

I like your explanations, comrade. I shall call upon them if the need ever arises. |
