Submission guidelines will be posted soon... be ready...
Bonfires dot the rolling hills
Figures dance around and around
To drums that pulse out echoes of darkness
Moving to the pagan sound
...
I can see the lights in the distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night
Candles and lanterns are dancing, dancing
A waltz on All Souls Night

It is quite amazing. My dragon looks like a dog. :P I'm still submitting it, as horrible as it is. :D Unless there's some rule against it.

*taps foot* Hurry up with those guidelines, Mara! ;)

I need to get my dragon short story done... ...it has promise. It's now a matter of writing it...
Your paper cut the air above the tundra
When you came back in silence and sheets
And the neighbors called me up
Out of my sleep
To watch you unfold the blanket.

Anathallo, Northern Lights

And when the wind and winter harden
All the loveless land,
It will whisper of the garden,
You will understand.

I have a question about the Inkies Dragon Anthology, if I may interrupt....

How long are submissions open, because I just joined and just started on my short story. Another thing, what does Inkies classify as a 'short story'?
As three great Jewels they were in form. But not until the End, when Fëanor shall return who perished ere the Sun was made, and sits now in the Halls of Awaiting and comes no more among his kin; not until the Sun passes and the Moon falls, shall it be known of what substance they were made.

You aren't butting in. Thank you much for bringing it back on topic. :)

Actually, submissions haven't started yet. ;) December 26th is when they're open.

As for definition of a short story ... if it seems short storyish to you, it probably will to us. Just no mini-novels. ;)

That's what usually happens with my short stories... Hm.... I'll try to do a short one. How long do submissions run after December 25?

I don't think we have an actual cut off date, as yet. At this point we're just aiming for as many submissions as possible. :)

Okay. Even though they're short, short stories usually take me 1 or 2 weeks to write.

Same here. :) They require a lot of crafting, really. Everything has to be exact ... no room to experiment or ramble like in a novel.

ramble like in a novel.

I do that a lot. :P That's what makes shorts so hard for me.... But I'm going to try! :fight: :reading:

Yeah, it's hard for me, too. Short stories have to be precise and to the point...and that requires a lot of thought, no wasted scenes.

Good challenge, though.
