There was one thing that Jason knew: it was a good day outside that Jason knew people would very likely rather be outside than inside. Thus, Jason decided to go outside with the hopes of finding someone who had something interesting planned to do. If he couldn't get that, he would be willing to settle on at least finding someone he could hang out with. Even more exciting, maybe he could meet someone new and, even better, become the person's friend! Sure, meeting someone and making an enemy was okay, but making a friend is so much better.

Under these pretenses, Jason quickly threw on his clothes for the day, choosing the first clean things his hands fell on, and rushed out of the dorm and through the Common Room. True to what he thought, not many people were left inside, but he kindly greeted those he passed. He thought it was odd not to be passing as many people as normal, though he reasoned that he was just used to the bustle of a school day and everyone trying to get to class on time.

He ate his breakfast with other Hufflepuffs, as usual, considering it's the house he belongs to, though he often didn't sit with the same people every day. Once he was finished with his breakfast, he meandered out of the castle and onto the grounds and, in particular, to the Courtyard. He wasn't sure who or what he was looking for, but he was sure it would come to him when he saw it.

Ah the beauty of a nice day tinged with the perfect mix of breeze and heat, though that was as far as normal senses would stretch. Sure, it was easy for Marissa to diagnose the day and maybe even go as far as to tell you the exact temperature and describe the people surrounding the courtyard all based on her sense of smell, but where the real magic lay was in her imagination.

There wasn't a sound from the surrounding area. Most people had fled to brighter moments to be found elsewhere in the castle even her dog, Wilson, had collapsed in a huff as his boredom stretched on. The giant german shepherd barely whimpered at her now as Riss spun in lazy circles under the heat of the sun. The frill along the hem of her day dress teased her skin as her laughter gurgle out of her throat.

It was a rare occasion that she were ever left alone for any period of time. Normally, her brother or one of his friends would be watching from afar to be sure she was safe, instead she had disappeared amongst the people to find her solitude amonst the garden flowers. Now as she spun in circles she could just imagine the grass and puffs of pollen she was disturbing.

In a moment of pure dizziness, her body collapsed into the grass, warranting a soft yelp from her seeing eye dog as he ran to sniff at her side. Her fingers ruffled his fur as she closed sightless eyes against the intensity of the sun. Riss could just imagine her dress disappearing with the grass. Supposedly, it was a brilliant green color that puffed at the sleeves and ended just short of knees with a rather corset looking middle complete with a blue ribbon. Very unusual but exactly what she loved.

Her ear prickled as she heard the sound of approaching footsteps and her eyes opened wide with embarassment. How long had the person been there? Hastening to her feet, she brushed at the grass she could feel sticking to the material, before brushing a hand through her dirty blonde curls in an attempt to look somewhat decent, though in retrospect did it really matter? Maybe he hadn't seen anything including her right now...hm, she seriously doubted it what with her dog now standing full attention against her leg.

As Jason went about wandering aimlessly around the courtyard, he saw a girl spinning and looked as if she was having a good time. A fun loving person himself, Jason decided to join in, thus, with a huge grin on his face, he jogged over to her, saving some energy for the spinning and whatever else but allowing himself to approach faster. As he came closer, he couldn't help but chuckle a little when he saw that the girl had disappeared into the grass with a huge german shepherd going over to her. Size-wise, that dog seemed a little intimidating to him, but he still was excited to go over there.

However, he could tell that he surprised the girl with his approach, yet it didn't seem like she knew by seeing him coming since he didn't think he was exactly in her seeing range from where she had landed. It seemed more like she heard his footsteps, though he wasn't sure if that really was the reason. However, he dismissed it as he smiled to her. He saw that her dog seemed alert, as well, which made him decide he wouldn't do anything too sudden that might seem like an attack. The last thing he wanted would be for that huge dog to attack him. A dog that size must be pretty heavy.

As Jason got closer, he slowed down to a slightly hurried walk. Smiling to her, he said, "Hi. Mind if I joined you?" He glanced down at the dog for a moment, wanting to make sure it was understood by both the girl and the dog that Jason meant no harm. However, what Jason failed to realize was that the girl was blind, so he thought the wave and the smile would convince the girl as he turned his glance back to her.

Rays of sunlight streamed through the window. The birds sang mockingly at Coraline as they enjoyed the rare weather. A gentle breeze wafted through the open window sill causing one of the pages of her book to turn over. Sitting on top of her bed, Coraline looked down at her open books and decided to take a short break from her study session. It was simply too beautiful outside to be cooped up indoors. A soft smile touched her parted lips as she saw the shadows of the leaves dance across her floor.

Hopping off her bed, her feet landed with a heavy thud. Today, Coraline had decided to wear her calf-length biker boots. Honestly, whoever invented shoes was a bloody genius! Not only can you use shoes to show off your individuality, but some shoes were just so darn cute. In this instance, Coraline wore her biker boots because she felt like a rebel for the day.

Walking over to the open window, Coraline closed her eyes as she felt the warmth of the sun wash over her skin. Taking a deep breath, Coraline relished the scents of the grass and the flowers from nearby. On days like these, Coraline would go leave the commons area to go out alone bringing only her pencil and paper. Pushing herself away from the window sill with a growl, Coraline struggled about a decision. To go outside or to stay and study like a good girl should.

Glaring at her bed, Coraline marched to the door and didn't glance back. As soon as she left the interior of the building and felt the wind ruffle her hair, Coraline felt completely liberated. Rocking back and forth on her wedge heels, Coraline wondered where she should go first. A soft giggle escaped her lips as she walked toward the courtyard. The courtyard was simply one of her favorite spots at Hogwarts. Her boots clunked against the cobblestone pathway.

Coraline stopped short when she saw a girl fall to the ground. Concern was replaced by amusement when a German shepherd licked the laughing girl's face. The joy on the girl's face was so genuine Coraline wished she could capture the image on paper. Skipping to the grassy knoll, Coraline was surprised to see that the girl had a new companion. Well, it was too late to back out when he saw her coming so Coraline decided that she might as well join in. Bending down on her knees, Coraline let the gorgeous dog sniff her gloved hands. Looking up at her new aquaintances, Coraline gave them both a crooked smile. "Sorry, I crashed your party. . .Hope you don't mind."

Oh how quickly the day had gone to hell for her. Of course the voice had to be one of those charming types that even convinced her dog to stand down, though not far away as he merely flopped to the ground with what she supposed would be alert ears and a watchful gaze. Wilson was the trusting type when it came to her meeting new people, since he understood Marissa’s desire to get to know people outside of her little support group, but for the life of her she wished he would have given her some clue as to where the boy was standing and what he was doing. How helpful it would be if he could simply talk to her. Would that be considered cruel? Basically, it would be a walking, talking version of a Seeing Eye dog in human form complete with a leash and walking bar?

The heat rising in her cheeks was sure to reveal a delightful blush across her skin even as she fought to answer him by looking into his eyes, though that idea feel useless as she lost sense of where the voice had come from. Instead she looked in his general direction and shrugged. “Who am I to deny the glorious beauty of today? Including my more…zealous nature.” It was true. The warmth of the sun mixed with the intoxicating aroma of the flowers and fresh grass around her simply brought out the most playful side Marissa knew to the point where she found herself wondering if she would care if he saw her off and spinning again. Maybe he would even join her.

Now felt like her chance to be brave, and she so rarely got those moments. “Riss by the way. Oh…. and Wilson.” Her leg felt the beast move in response to his name before rumbling back to the ground. As luck would have it another sound played on her eardrums followed by a soft frown. It felt unusual for so many people to be within the courtyard, hence her decision to come here in the first place. Perhaps today would finally be her chance to make some real friends.

Riss threw the new arrival a grin. “Two is hardly a party. The more the merrier.” There, that had felt normal enough, until she heard the steps of the girl some distance off to her right. Damn, she must have continued walking once she had spoken. Stepping backward so as to give more room to the growing triangle, her ankle touched the soft skin of her dog’s belly and in an attempt to not squish him she found herself floundering backward and slamming into the dirt beneath her. Great, now not only would her blush never disappear but also she would have grass stain on her favorite dress.

Despite her latest blunder, she found herself chuckling softly and flopping back to lie flat on the ground. It was just such a beautiful day. How could anyone be upset on a day like today?

Jason smiled as the girl introduced herself, though she seemed to have avoided direct eye contact and looking toward him for the courtesy of acknowledging that he had been talking to her. He was assuming that she was able to see him and know where he was standing and see where his face was. Thus, he assumed she was avoiding looking at his face because she wanted to hide the blush, though she still looked toward him. He couldn't help but chuckle a little at the thought that he had actually made her blush. Somehow, the entertainment that someone actually blushed by his appearance distracted him from actually listening to her words. Instead, he took her introducing herself and her dog as that she didn't mind.

Just then, he noticed that someone else joined them. Even though Marissa beat him to saying that she wasn't crashing their party because, frankly, it wasn't really much of a party. However, he smiled reassuringly and said, "It'll be more of a party if you joined." He nodded to her before saying to both of them, "I'm Jason."

He wondered where Riss was going until he saw her plop onto the ground. He wondered if she was okay and was about to ask when he saw that she laid back down. Maybe that was her intention the whole time, but he didn't ask. He laughed a little and commented, "That looks fun."

[Sorry it's short. Too many things going on at once at the moment. I decided you've been waiting long enough for a post so here it is...]

It was a very sunny day. The sun was shining brightly at the sky. The birds were humming softly on the near by trees. The cold breeze made the leaves of those trees sway gracefully.

Ginny wondered what she'll do today. She has no classes and no homeworks to do. What a very nice student life. Shall I go to the library? She thought. She was walking absentmindedly on a corridor. No, that's definitely not me! Hmm..Ahah! Play quidditch! Her face jerked up at the thought. She smiled, but then, it suddenly vanished. She bowed her head again while walking. Who would I play with, in the first place? She sighed. She was bored and it was killing her.

She just continued to walk...walk,walk and walk..until she reached a place. Her eyes narrowed as the blinding light coming from the sun striked her bright brown eyes. This made her come to her senses. She was in the courtyard. She felt the cold breeze against her pale skin. Her long, vibrant hair swayed gracefully with it.

And then she heard something..No, someone. They were talking and laughing. She sighed in relief. At last! She has something to do now.
She followed their voices until she found them. A group of three were talking. All having a good time.

She cleared her throat. The others looked at her and her face turned scarlet red. She smiled sheepishly and said, "Er---hi guys! uhm.. can i join you?"

My, this girl really liked to fall to the ground. Coraline shook her head in amazement as the girl started to giggle some more. She could hardly blame the lass. It was after all a gorgeous day. Trying to go with the flow, Coraline thought she might as well enjoy nature as well . . .but without the falling to the ground part.

Walking away from the couple, Coraline spied a patch of wildflowers just waiting to be picked. There was just something about them that drew Coraline to the small, lavendar petals. Bending down, she noticed that the petals were webbed with striking blue colors. She had never seen such gorgeous flowers before. Placing one bloom to her nose, Coraline breathed in the sweet smell.

Her eyes sparkling fiendishly, she ran to her companions and placed a flower behind their ears before they could react. "Nice to meet you both. I'm Coraline by the way," she couldn't stop the laughter from bubbling out of her when she saw the shocked gazes of her new companions. Mmm . . .these flowers were simply divine. If only they could last forever . . . Shaking herself from any melancholy thoughts, Coraline was surprised to see another guest coming their way. Now, this was a party!

The Gryffindor girl approached them shyly as can be. "Of course you may join us! The more the merrier!" Honestly, where was all this positive energy coming from? Coraline looked down at the flowers clutch between her fingers and wondered if they had some sort of effect on a person who came in contact with it. Not wanting the new girl to feel left out, Coraline rushed to her side and planted a flower behind her ear. "Now, you're one of us."

For some reason, Coraline had the vague impression that she was supposed to remember something . . .or was it to do something? Oh well, must not have been important.

Ginny smiled and her face turned back to its normal color as she heard the girl's reply. She muttered, "Thanks!" and stared at the others, thinking if she had seen their faces before. Of course I've seen them! But I don't know their names--forget about that, knowing all the student's names was not my job! Except--if a detention requires that, she thought.

She looked at the girl who approached her as her smile widened a bit more. So this is Coraline, her name sounds good..so sweet..and her ambiance, she's so warm..not literally, of course, the breeze was enough to freeze me to death. New friends! It's so good to----
Her thoughts were disrupted when she felt a cold hand against her ear and she felt something..a stem? She reached for the thing behind her ear, a flower?
She laughed herself out loud and said, "It's just so sweet. Caroline!" She chuckled again and said,"I'm Ginny, by the way. A gryffindor. But I guess that doesn't count. We're all friends here now, aren't we?" She gave her lopsided smile and tucked a patch of stray hair from her face behind her ear--the one without a flower--for the wind blew again. It sent shivers down her spine. The scent of the flower rushed through her. It was so sweet, she thought.

Laughter just threatened to always be at the very edge of her thoughts. There was something about this sweet grass or the aroma of the flora that floated around the air around the visitors that just made the body sigh in exuberance, though at the same time there was a sinister edge to it. Since when did Marissa become distracted enough to fall? Better yet the girl she would have pegged for more serious and down to earth instead of the ditz of a girl that was placing flowers behind ears and causing smiles.

Her suspicions were further confirmed as the sound of another girl joined their group, and neither she nor Wilson jumped to attention. In fact she had the vague impression that the dog had only flopped over on his side as though it was no big deal. Stretching, she pulled herself into an upright position and threw a smile in the girl’s general direction. “Hey Ginny of Gryffindor, I’m Riss. Same house.”

One of us…what a funny saying, since the us she was referring to had only been together for a few moments prior to this girl’s arrival. Oh well, who was she to judge the way other people spoke. In a moment of pure excitement, she rushed to her feet. “Oooh we should do something now that we have a larger group.” Her words paused, but what? “Any ideas?” Oi, she really hoped it wouldn’t be tag or hide-n-seek. Both of those games would be absolutely killer in her situation.

[Ah! So sorry! Lacking time and in a bit of a rush right now...]

Jason decided to join Marissa on the ground, so he laid down on the ground, as well. He didn't really make an effort to try to get close the Marissa. Instead, he just laid where he had been standing. This was definitely a very nice day, especially with company. Normally one may think that he felt himself extraordinarily lucking for being surrounded by girls. However, he was ambivalent about that fact. Instead, he was just happy to be with other people. He loved making friends, no matter the gender.

As he heard another voice joining them, he looked up in that direction. With a smile, he said, "Welcome to the party, Ginny." He sat up slightly, just so he was leaning on his hands as he faced her. "I am Jason. I'm Hufflepuff." He looked around to see if there was anyone else coming in their direction. He was happy with their group now, though he wanted to greet the other person first this time.

He faced Riss when she suggested they did something. With a grin and a burst of excitement that made him stand up, he said, "Oh! We should do something! I don't have any ideas right now, but doing something in a big group sounds fun!"

A huge grin crossed Ginny's face as she joined the group. She flopped herself comfortably on the ground to have a good look on her new friends..and to also have a good time chatting with them.

She looked instantly at Marissa when she suggested of doing something. She thought for a moment. A game? Why not? But what game? Her eyebrows creased as she think of a good thing to do. A game is a good thing to do with them..I guess.. And then she suggested, her eyes sparkled with interest and enthusiasm, "How about we play a game?" her bright brown eyes flickered to the others," Anyone knows how to play the Word Association game? Or maybe even the timeworn and famous Truth or Dare?" she flinched at her suggestion. Really, truth or dare?? Did I just say that?? Ginny shook her head at the thought.

And then he heard the only boy, or even a man, spoke. She returned Jason's smile with her own and said, "Oh hi, Jason. Nice to meet you."

There were so many things yet there was nothing at all. Everything in her head just didn't make sense. Nothing mattered anymore. Just the here and now. Her new companions kept conversing among themselves about playing a game, but Coraline just giggled to herself. She couldn't help it! The words coming out of their mouths just sounded like complete gibberish.

Standing as still as she could, Coraline's world began to tilt. Faces became obscure. Words came out garbled. Not able to handle it anymore, her legs buckled beneath her. Laying on her back against the grass, she kept her eyes closed. Find your happy place . . . Isn't that the saying muggles always told each other? With her eyes closed, Coraline began to slowly relax some more. The wind began to pick up just enough for Coraline's hair to fly into her face.

Unable to handle the ticklish feeling across her face, Coraline opened her eyes and swiped tendrils of hair away from her vision. Then her hands stilled above her. Clouds were rolling and colliding into each other as if they were dancing about in the sky. Rays of sunlight cascaded through the cracks of the white billowy mass. Hmm . . .maybe the sun wanted to play as well.

Sitting up, Coraline looked at each of her companions. "Hey . . .who wants to catch the sun?"
