The Republic of Saxoiy

Well this thread as the title suggests is regarding the creation and introduction of a new RP map. Please use this thread to give idea, thought and discussion regarding a new regional RP map. Thank you, Senator Cox |

But the question is who can we get to design it. We could design a map using a generator like Droth did or we could freehand it. We must remember we need multiple Islands as we are called the Isles. Islands or Continents. Either way we should also divide the land masses into cultural sections and temperature and geographical areas. That way its much more realistic |

I would go with a map generator because then it is easy to edit the map when somebody wants to be added even if the "official" map editor is inactive. |

If we cannot use a map generator, I would be willing to create a map. And, to ensure a map that is generally "liked" by everybody, there is the possibility that several people could make a map and a vote could be for the best one, so as to make a more "custom" map that matches the feel of the region better. About the population determined by land and the map, I partially agree. Granted, if that was solely the determining factor, young nations would have the same population as nations that may have ben in the region since its founding. However, if the population was entirely based in the number that is shown on the NationStates site, new nations have 3 million or whatever, nations like me or Paul Revere (i.e. 4-8 months old) have around 500 million to a billion citizens, and nations like Tunasai or Mauretania or Saxoiy have billions and billions. A mixture of the two would be more realistic, I think, because the variation would not be as great, but not everyone would have 500 million people, which would make RP seem almost monotonous as militaries, populations, etc. would be similar if not the same. About the economy, a resource map would allow a more realistic economy with some customization. For example, if Saxoiy is surrounded by oil fields, there's a map for that. If Tunasai has a diamond mine and recently discovered a resovoir of natural gas, there's a map for that. It would be more fair in the sense that no nation could say they have an unaturally high amount of resources, and every nation could still get resources. About paying for the land, I agree. Now, RP for the land would still be encouraged if not necessary, but organization of territory RP's and requirements to start would help. About whether or not we should get a new map, I completely agree. A new map could possibly help the RP, which seems as though it is slowing down a bit. It could attract new nations to the region, and it could add more depth and realism to the RP (just saying, but the two new islands most recently added to the current map definitely look like they were not originally there, which they weren't, but it is easier to tell than I think it should be). |

You can create modifiers so nations may choose to be more militaristic, capitalistic, communistic, but I think everybody should have an equal chance. As I said previously I am tired of RPing against bigger nations.
Great! |

I think you have some really good ideas. What we could do is have a couple people draw a map and then use a generator once or twice and then we vote on which map we like the best |

Alright. I'll try to come up with a map within the next few days-week or so. |
