Javad_Khan

Greetings, I am Javad Khan Ziyad oghlu Qajar. I am the acting Khan of my glorious fledgling empire. Some say an openly autocratic government lead by a noble house is an an anachronism; I'd say the measure of a government's quality is not in its democratic processes, but in the results. Autocrats have implanted themselves as de-facto-rulers of many supposed "Democracies" where people vote for whatever is put in front of them. I rule because I am strong, and I am strong enough to defend my nation's wealth and its people. And I am strong enough to hold my seat of power from a number of detractors, usurpers, and rivals. I allow the open worship of any religion. My capital city of Baku is a peaceful one, a multicultural Mecca in a sea of hatred. Jew, Armeni, Turk, Georgi, Rusi, Greek, Persian, Arabs, all work, worship, and live here side by side in peace. I allow the worker to enjoy the sweat of his brow, I do not weigh him down with taxes. In return for their meager tax rates (all below a third) they get some of the best healthcare and education in the world, along with a first class military ready to defend ourselves from any number of world threats. I also believe having a compulsory military service hardens and matures a people, as well as make it more secure. But fear not, I am no war monger, and will only force my rule on those too wretched to care for themselves, or those foolish enough to seek hostilities with me. Me or my people will not be cowed by your claims that we are politically oppressed or culturally stagnant. We are a cultured, educated, and disciplined country. We are proud, of our nation, of our freedoms (not the freedoms to take other the freedoms of others away through the balot box) and of our might.

But enough of the roleplaying. I mostly agree with my nation state's policies. I'm also a descendant of this noble family; I'm actually related to Javad Khan's ruling house, the Qajars (which were also prominent in iran for a period of time before the god forsaken Palavis.) No, I don't let being of noble birth get to my head, as we all know, the only thing that makes a man noble is what he accomplishes in life, not what vagina he pops out of.
