New Monitor Bug

Hi,

I bought a new monitor from the black Friday sales, and I received it yesterday. The specific monitor is Acer ED242QR. The bug I have experienced is that when I start it up it will go to the logo screen that allows you to access BIOS by pressing a certain button like normal, but then it goes black and in the the top left corner will flash the word HDMI, then DVI, then DP. After that it will go black again, and DP will flash in the top left. After that the screen goes black, and it goes to my log in screen. I am using a DP cable as that is what came with the monitor (and that is what allows 144hz.) On my old monitor, which was also an Acer monitor, it just went to the logo screen with the BIOS options, went black with a loading circle in the middle, and then went straight to the log in screen. That took around 15 seconds average, whereas now it takes around 30 seconds. Thus rendering my SSD kind of pointless. Also, along the border of the screen, it is dimmer/greyer than the areas rest of the screen. Is there any way to fix that?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
