May the Force be with you.

Hello everyone, and welcome to Star Wars: The New Republic, a Star Wars roleplay based mainly on the Habbo retro, tardis-hotel.com. Before you jump in, there are many rules and regulations that you must first read over and understand. It is important to follow these rules as they are in place to ensure a fun and fair experience for everybody involved.

IC Rules

To start off, there are a few rules for the roleplay itself and how to act when in character. Just remember, this roleplay is not intended to be a mad race for the top positions or to be solely combat. The roleplay is scene and story driven, so put your personal vices aside so everyone can have a good time.

1. Roleplay is ALWAYS emote*; no "descing" or dueling of any kind. Roleplay lines must be at least 8 words as to avoid spamming, and anything under 8 words can be considered invalid. This is especially true during combat situations, but during casual scenes, there can be exceptions.

2. Character death is considered permanent unless a legitimate reason for their return is supplied. To this extent, death must be agreed upon by both parties in order to be carried out. As such, a person may want their character to die as a way to push forward a plotline or in order to explore new horizons; say you are bored of being a Jedi and decide you want to make a Sith, or even a bounty hunter.

3. A Force-using character cannot utilize it all of the time. As shown by the Star Wars movies, in which Bounty Hunters such as Boba and Jango Fett are able to hold their own against Force wielding Jedi, the Jedi aren't constantly using telekinesis or other powers to immobilize their foes, but combat them with their fighting skills. Keep this in mind if you are a Force-using character fighting a non-Force sensitive.

4. With number 3 in mind, immunity to certain Force powers is not unheard of, but decidedly rare. One of the most common immunities is the ability to resist Force persuasion. This is especially present in Sith soldiers and some incredibly skilled mercenaries. In order for a character that is not Force sensitive to have an immunity to a certain power, you must first consult a Staff member and give a reason for it.

5. We want to give people some freedom when it comes to what they can do IC, such as develop their own sub-plotlines, character relationships and alliances. However, if problems arise or complaints are submitted, many of these rules are subject to change.

Forum Rules

Many of the rules are centered on the forums, their presence, and the reason for them.

1. Firstly, and most importantly, is the announcements and lore section. Always check these areas for updates pertaining to OOC issues or things within the roleplay.

2. In order to be validly roleplaying in character, it is essential to create a character biography. There are many regulations associated with the act of submitting a character biography and the limitations associated with it.

- First off, you can be anything you wish without consequence. You can be a Jedi padawan, knight or master. It is important to note that titles, such as Dark Lord of the Sith, Sith Emperor, Jedi Grandmaster, Jedi Battlemaster, and other titles are restricted and cannot be taken without staff permission. Also, we use an honor system; we don't expect nor want everybody to make Jedi Masters claiming them to be the "greatest and wisest Jedi of all time"; if these problems do arise, we will switch the basic format of being a padawan and working your way up the ranks.

- Every single race is available for use, except for Ancient or Extinct ones. To use Ancient or Extinct races, ask a staff member and submit a reason for their existence, such as whether or not they would be useful to a plotline.

- Every biography must have some form of the following: Character Race, Character Name, Alliances, Occupation, Rank in Occupation, Personality, Powers & Skills, and a brief (or long) history of their life. A template will be supplied with all of the necessary areas for this information, so there is no reason not to follow this guideline.

- Biographies that are declined for any reason will be moved to the "Declined Biographies" subfolder until corrections are made. The Admin declining the biography must submit a reason for this so that the maker can edit accordingly.

3. Equipment has limitations to the Admin's discretion; there are no true guidelines, but you must at least keep it practical. No "Lightsaber Hammer"s or anything of the sort

4. Practice basic and proper etiquette on the forums, and be respectful towards others in general. If two people have a problem, handle it on your own time. This is not a place for fighting.

All in, follow the rules, and have a fun time.
