OOC BEEF: "Why /you're/ the shithead." We're all here to play a role, right? Roles that are arguably nothing like our personal selves in real life. You will run into people who do immoral things, you will run into people who say hurtful words and you will run into people who could just essentially be the polar opposite of who you are. What happens when all of these things collide and people become competitive? That's right... OOC BEEF. OOC "beef" as we would call it is the worst thing you could be involved in as a self respecting roleplayer. OOC beef is what causes people to step out of character to spite one another. It is also known to be the killer of long term OOC friendships people have typed their ass off to develop. But the worst thing about OOC beef, the thing that makes OOC beef so stupid and so irrelevant, is the look it gives mafia roleplayers. Think about this... we all roleplay mafia men. Mafia men are known to conspire and kill and straight up embarrass their opponents. The truth is, when you're arguing in /b or gossiping about each other acting like you're conspiring OOC, you look like a straight up, arrogant, uptight poser. That could also be a symptom of getting too sucked into your character and could easily indicate you need a short break. It causes people to want to argue with you more and before you know it it all becomes one big childish mess that makes the RP as a community look stupid. As far as I'm concerned, you're BOTH shitheads for having OOC trouble with each other in the first place. If you're using this thread, you're showing that you want to get over whatever it is you're having a situation about someone with. Using this thread shows maturity. So please, get in the habit of using it. Because I want this group to be portrayed as a mature, fair group of men. How to format an OOC issue: Since this is a new method, you're probably wondering how the hell this is going to work. Well, that's what I'm here to show you. This is a drafted idea I have for LSRP if they ever let me become tester one day. Because sometimes, the busy people cant always solve your problems with someone else. We have to man up every now and then, facing the problems that come before us maturely. So lets get started. Ill start you off with an example of how one of these should look before we get started so it's easier for me to explain.Title: [Your name(OOC name)][Your rivals name(OOC name)] - This will ensure people get to know each other on an OOC basis. Description: Here is where you calmly, maturely address your issue with someone. You're only allowed to make ONE post to the person you're addressing and then you have to wait for them to reply with a SINGLE post. This thread is going to be heavily monitored for the better sake of everyone's roleplay, so choose your words carefully. This thread is not here so you two can duke it out verbally, it's here so you can address your issue with someone without disrespecting them OOCly. (Since we're all a team) It's here so instead of crying to some of the higher ups, you can handle it yourself and learn how to take on responsibility. Trust me, it's something you want to learn if you plan on going far in this RP community.
