And don't you EVER step foot in his area again!
Honestly? She probably hadn't planned on it. However the knife that was thrown and landed less than a few inches from her head, skewering into the ground, was probably a decent enough of a incentive to not.
It didn't take what was there of the hooded figure to bolt and start taking off up the street, slowing after a bit.
Hey! That person! They stole from me!Stop them!

Thud, thud, thud
Seriously? Briefly, the figure would turn her head, and would be met with the view of two soldiers chasing her. Had they been patrolling last year? Surely not, she didn't recall soldiers patrolling the streets last year... But maybe she had been smart enough not to get caught last year.
Thud
She'd let out a gasp as she fell back, her rear meeting the had ground that had been compacted from many a person traveling the streets over time. A scowl would form on her brow, and she'd look up long enough to realize she'd stupidly run into someone. A split second later and she'd push herself back up on her feet.
"So-"
She'd cut herself very short, realizing if she spoke he'd realize she was... well, a she. Had he seen her face when she looked up? Gods, she hoped not.... Subconsciously hands would reach up to make sure her face was still covered, and thanking the gods when it was, she'd look back briefly again. "Grab them!"

That was about all the incentive she needed. One more quick glance would be thrown up to whoever it was she'd ran into, before she'd side step quickly and take off again.
Not a moment too soon another street came up, and she'd turn up it, before being faced with a left or right option. Spotting an array of four wagons full of harvest goods in 2 x 2 format, she'd turn up the right toward them, slipping quickly between the two closest to where she, and soon the soldiers, would be coming from, before dropping to her stomach and crawling under the furthest, laying on her stomach underneath it and concentrating on her breathing. It wouldn't do her any good to manage to outrun them, just to be heard gasping for breath and caught anyway. She had a feeling they wouldn't give a rat if she was a she, the blonde had a feeling she would almost definitely end up dead.

Thud, thud, thud
Breath would almost be held as she pressed a cheek to the ground, straining her hardest to see them (or atleast their shoes) without being seen herself. "Where you think they went?" she assumed the other shrugged, because she never heard a response from the second soldier.
What seemed like hours would pass as the two scanned the streets, though in reality it was probably less than ten minutes. Just to be sure the girl would wait until she was almost positive they had gone back the way she had led them, before crawling out slowly.
Dirt that had made it's way into her mouth would be spat back onto the ground in the most unladylike manner, before setting to work brushing off the thick film of dirt that covered her front. The now clearly blonde wouldn't even bother fixing her hood back into place just yet as she still fussed with brushing off the dirt which was still covering one cheek, judging by the other, underneath it all would probably be almost white skin. Unbeknown to her she'd probably made the dirt worse, smearing it all down her chin too. Her mother would be thrilled when she saw this mess arrive back to camp....

Brown eyes would scan the area from under thick, extremely dark lashes that even for performing hardly ever needed the help of kohl to accentuate. Eventually gaze would fall back onto the cart she had just taken shelter under, and onto the contents of them. Surely they wouldn't notice a couple of things taken... There was so much there, surely they had plenty...

Brow would raise and lips would press together tightly at the look on his face. She supposed, at least, he hadn't actually rolled his eyes, though the expression was still there - and she still clearly looked unimpressed.

The expression would subtly relax slowly as he mentioned 'wrong place wrong time' and she'd nod, laughing faintly as he commented on the 'demon birds'. She was almost positive the rest of the camp felt the same way about the wretched animals.
At his comment about the leader's daughters she'd look over at him, studying him for a moment or two. Has he figured it out? he couldn't possibly have... Did it really matter if he had? Probably not....

I think father would like that one she'd make a mental note and nod, watching him from the corner of her eye with an amused smirk as he watched the bird. He must not have gotten that far after all.
"Only the one?"
He must have only done this a few times, only one hen for a weapon? She'd mentally shrug, not that it was any of her business...

Gaze would swap to him yet again as he asked to see "the rest" of the wares, and she'd bite the inside of her lip as he nodded. In all honesty she wasn't overly sure what else they would have of interest to him, apart from the compass... and the pendant she had run into him while stealing, that was the most interesting of it...
"What you've seen are the biggest finds we have at the moment...."
as they headed back she'd stop at the same trailer they had gotten the food from, puling out a couple of other pendants that they'd received from different parts of the land, and a couple of daggers that clearly bore the craftmanship of a smith from Talison. She couldn't imagine any of those would be of interest to him but maybe he'd surprise her....

"Those are the next most valuable items we have, if any of those are of interest...."
She'd look around briefly, catch her father's eye for a split second, and stifle a sigh.
"It doesn't make sense for you to travel back tonight just to come back tomorrow.... If you need, we can set something up for you for tonight..."

A quick raise of the brows would be given in an apologetic expression as they studied each other. Obviously, she had read where his mind was going as she had begun to talk. Head would lower, and his attention would divert back to the hens for a short while. A small smile would crack at her faint laugh, but it too would pass quickly.

Only the one? Her voice would snap him from his thoughts, and he'd look back, a subtle "Oh, right..." escaping. New mental rule for the first time trading: Push until they say no.
"And this one," he'd point to another, that seemed like it had taken an affection to the first. Coops may have been small to begin with, but these two seemed oddly joined at the hip.
"Two for the blade seems reasonable. And, the daughter gets to keep her pet." he'd laugh faintly, and stand, arms folded and a step away from the cages. Two hens, and a magik compass. Father would ... hopefully ... be accepting of that.

A nod would be given as she spoke of the other wares. Good, he didn't exactly feel like looking through more items and potentially having the chance to screw up more trades. Such pressure this was turning out to be. He'd follow until she pulled out the daggers, and he'd shake his head subconsciously. If Father wanted a weapon, they could forge a weapon. Eyes would scan the pendants briefly before ending in another subtle head shake.
"Thank you, but I think we'll stick with the compass and the hens," he said, one last look glancing over the items on the tables. "Though, these are fine quality..." a hand would rest on the hilt of one of the daggers as he inspected it a bit further, before ending back on his earlier deduction and removing his hand from it.

A brow would raise as she offered to set something up for him, and he would scan the area.
"That would be far better than trying to stem muggers in the middle of the night - thank you," a hand would run through his hair as his gaze settled on the man named Renado, and quickly shot back to her.
"I can understand if you don't want me near the camp, however. Even if I'm permitted on the outskirts, that would work just as well." Kaj was probably going to kill him when he got back. But, he'd return with two hens and something that could actually be of use to him and Father. If he had to suck it up for the night, oh well.
"Although, for protections sake, the closer the better? Perhaps, for all parties involved."

Narrowed gaze would fall over him as he lowered his head, before she'd nod at his mention of the second hen. Gaze would flash briefly over both birds he had chosen to make a note of his selection for when it was time to collect them. As he mentioned two for the blade was reasonable she'd nod in silent agreement, faint amused smirk playing upon her lips at his mention of her sisters keeping their pet.

She watched him carefully as he studied the other wares she had produced, and nodded again. The amused smirk had remained upon her lips as he mentioned the quality of the daggers, almost expecting him to be as indecisive as most other traders they dealt with. A slightly surprised look would cross her face as he let it go, before she'd sheath them again and tuck them away once more.

A slight pause in her movements would be made as he accepted her offer, her gaze would follow his to her father and she'd smile faintly - nodding in her father's direction in what she hoped was vaguely reassuring to the older man. Eyes would widen slightly as she went to look back at him and realized he'd been watching her.
"Don't be silly, Renado wouldn't allow it. You're a guest here, for tonight away."

She'd smile faintly toward him, looking up at the sky. She hadn't realized how late it was getting until she looked up to see the sky almost dark, streaked with bright oranges and just as vivid pinks.
"They'll be serving supper soon, are you hungry?"

Don't be silly, Renado wouldn't allow it... A half-second of thought entered the young man's mind, was it do to being a good host, or for fear that they couldn't keep an eye on him? Though, they seemed to be pretty decent people thus far. And, even if the latter were true, he'd give them reason to believe he was just.

"Thank you," he'd repeat, eyes searching from the woman in front of him to the older man again, subconsciously trying to convey the message to him as well, and then back. "It's very appreciated."

A quick and faint smile would be shot, and he'd bring his attention to the surroundings. So peaceful. It was hard to believe that this place was ever engulfed in war, though the cultural afflictions still showed. The mass of soldiers that had been stationed in Helia - hell, even the small outpost near Del'ri that had protected the eastern boarder - all still stocked and ready at a moments notice.

As she mentioned food, Kanai heard his stomach talk back. He laughed quietly, and nodded.
"That would be amazing, thank you. I haven't eaten since we left Del'ri." Probably due to his own stupidity, but he didn't include that information. It was a long ride in the wagon, and, being bored, he just dozed for most of the trip. He had been planning on grabbing some fruit from the stands until the whole... Incident... occurred. He would look up at the darkening sky, and sigh softly. He loved the way the sun looked as it went down, so on fire and powerful, it was almost too easy to get lost in it.

Coming back to reality, he'd look over to her quickly to see if she had saw him in his gaze, slightly embarrassed of the fact. Standing and stretching his legs, he'd walk a little closer to her, panning his eyesight around again.
"After you?" he'd offer, and lower himself into a half-bow, arm outstretched towards what he believed to be the center of everything in an over-dramatic posture. He was probably way of course with it, but, at least he was attempting to be a good guest.

What time is it where you are?
I miss you more than anything
Back at home, you feel so far
Waiting for the phone to ring

It's getting lonely living upside down
I don't even wanna be in this town
Tryin' to figure out the time zone's makin' me crazy

You say good morning, when it's midnight
Goin' out of my head, alone in this bed
I wake up to your sunset
And, it's driving me mad, I miss you so bad

And, my heart is so jet lagged
It's so jet lagged

What time is it where you are?
Five more days, and I'll be home
I keep your picture in my car
I hate the thought of you alone

I've been keepin' busy all the time
Just to try to get you off my mind
Tryin' to figure out the time zone's makin' me crazy

I miss you so bad, I miss you so bad
I wanna share your horizon, and see the same sun risin'
Tell me how I get back to when you were holdin' me....
