Kriket, looking at the thread you started you just about have it right. There's a step by step screenshot based guide to posting images into threads using Photobucket here Posting with pictures - Part I. Have a look at that and it may get you over the line. You're very close! Cheers, Michael. |

Answer to the first poser is yes, I have a Mac and I get a "Choose Files" button. You do have to scroll down a bit. The answer to the second poser is the same. Dennis - Admin |

In FULL REPLY MODE I have the option to attach a file right from my machine without using photobucket. (see attached pic).... Perhaps its a user permission issue? There are image size restrictions, but with my ID and PW I can do it. |

Everyone, The "Choose File" or "Browse" button is NOT an Admin or moderator only function. If you would visit this link; http://w11.zetaboards.com/The_Slot_Lodge/topic/10195770/1/#new and view post #4,, you should see two links there to photo's of Kriket's. I will check the forum and see if the settings are correct for members to view and post files.......and report back here................ after checking the settings on the Track Building forum, I discovered that the upload button was not checked. The problem should be solved as of right now! Thank you all for letting me know about this fubar! Have a good day! Dennis - Admin

In order to put pictures into your posts they must be on a server that is connected to the Internet, your home computer is not a server. There are some Slot BBs that will let you put pictures on their server, but most of the time you will have to find a site that hosts pictures, some people use Facebook or some other social networking site, but there are strictly photo hosting sites like Flickr and Photobucket that let you link to them. Not all photo hosting sites allow linking. In order to link to a picture you need to know two things, the first is the URL, that is the Internet address, of the picture and the second is the BB code that tells the BB what to do with the picture. Here is how I put pictures in my posts using Photobucket. This is part of a page from my Photobucket account. The pictures are shown as thumbnails. Posted Image In order to post a picture move the cursor to the upper right hand corner of a thumbnail, a drop down menu will open. Posted Image Pick Share Links. Posted Image Click on the text in the IMG box, it will briefly turn yellow indicating that the BB code and the URL have been copied to your clipboard. Open a new browser session and go to the place on the BB where you want to put the picture. Compose your post, then hit Ctrl and V at the same time to paste the text into your post, it will look something like this. Posted Image Note the stuff in brackets, everything in between is the URL. If you want to post another picture go back to Photobucket and repeat the procedure. After you post your message the BB code will be replaced by the picture. In order to save time I have a document with most of the BB codes, I can copy those into my posts without having to go to Photobucket. Edited by RichD, Mar 1 2015, 10:59 AM.
