Anyone else having trouble with Photobucket.com being unresponsively S-L-O-W these days? I don't bother with a paid ad-free account, so I guess I rally have nothing to complain about. But there are now so many ads loading that the site has become unusable. I'll try using Google Photos or Drive, or Flickr. Edited by highwingpilot, Jan 6 2017, 12:17 PM.

I have problems just logging in on one account. Once I'm log in, if I don't go to the library first, I have to log in again to upload pics... and now the pics are not showing up in the liibrary. I have to click on recent uploads to see em.. it's always something!!! My other account works as normal, what's up with that??? RM |

Problems with Photobucket seem to come and go. I have been using Photrobucket for years and I have paid to have the ads removed, but besides running too slow sometimes I can't log in or a picture doesn't want to upload. To add insult to injury I got an e-mail from Photobucket today asking for money for premium service. I believe that it would be best to find another photohosting service. Flickr seems to work OK. |

I wonder if this could somehow be a location based problem? I saw the issue posted here last night, checked my PB account and all is fine. Logged in immediately, upload & navigation all normal. Just checked again now with the same result. (Using Firefox with AdBlocKPlus) KiwiDave, if you see this, is all ok with PB from New Zealand? The only other thing I can think of is a bad cookie (don't laugh) or browser cache issue. If you are having problems it might be worth closing all browser tabs, clearing the cache & cookies before restarting the browser and trying again. If this works for anyone please let us know. Would be nice to find a solution ASAP. I'd sooner have my oxygen supply cut than my photo supply......... must have photos! Cheers, Michael. Edited by Jisp, Jan 10 2017, 07:24 AM.

I just tried going to Photobucket, it seems to not see me as a user unless I log in. That may be because Norton scrubs out cookies from time to time. Today I was using Chrome as my browser, it is faster and less buggy than the old IE 9 version that I am stuck with because my computer has Vista. It took about five minutes for Photobucket to load up all of the ads that you get unless you pay extra. If I try to log in before all of the junk loads it won't let me. I did manage to log on and now there should be a cookie in place so I won't have to log in the next time that I go to the site. In addition as long as the cookie holds up Photobucket will know that I have paid to remove the ads. Hopefully it will be a while before Norton erases the cookie! Just for kicks I uploaded this picture of a car that I completed recently. Posted Image |

When I went back about an hour later to upload another picture I was once again asked to log in! Once again there would have been I long wait before I could do anything. In a fit of ambition I wrote this article on how to post pictures using Flickr: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzLR42NthGeCYzZ5T0VoQjFNZlk/view?usp=sharing |

I agree. Retaining your originals is a good idea. Just zip them onto a drive, or a disc. Inexpensive enough, compared to the possible aggravation of not being able to access needful pictures. |

I agree. I went through this once, and only once. Retaining your originals on some form of back up is always a good idea. Just zip them onto a drive, or a disc. Inexpensive enough, compared to the very real possiblity of not being able to access needful pictures. Grrrrrrr! Side note: My old digital lives in the slot cave, because I originally began taking a lot of build pictures to share on-line. Early on, I discovered an interesting by-product that has since turned out to be an indespensilbe part of "my toolkit": The added bonus of being able to critique ones work in Macro as you go. It really helps keep what can be a long term, oft interrupted, in process in order. Without picture study, I might as well have one eye poked out. ;) Edited by model murdering, Jan 10 2017, 02:36 PM.
