It's been a while since my last update. Some fun things have been happening. First, a good ways back I bought a 1/24 scale rc Cuda. Just because I thought it was cool with the perfect stance. And I like Mopars. Posted Image I can't get over how cool the wheels looked so I imagined what they would look like under the '56 I've been working on... Posted Image Then I wondered what they would look like under a '60 Imp... Posted Image I really like the Cuda, but I really like the wheels too. So I took some measurements and translated them to CADD. Posted Image This had me thinking about 3d printing. So I contacted HWP about it. He recommended that I redraw them in Blender and give him a shout when I finished. So, I've been working on that. Toying around with the idea of a 2 piece wheel. we will see... Then I was at my local Wally World and picked another 1/24 scale rc car with cool wheels. When I got home, the wheels came off right away along with the front suspension. Posted Image Later that day, I went over to the craft store cuz I had a 50% off coupon. I wandered over to the jewelry making aisle and I found some barrels that tie a necklace or bracelet together... Posted Image Then I found this colorful wire... Posted Image I rushed home and carved up some distributors with the parts I found... Posted Image Thanks for looking, Stay Tuned... |

Slotto, Hey your models are Great to see here. I love them all!! Way cool distributors. Thanks for sharing with pictures. Your engines are super detailed looking. Oh Yeah!! Have not built a 1/24 for a long time but, may end up doing so pretty soon? Inherited a BUNCH of my Dads built and unbuilt models. Will be posting up pictures of them here on the Lodge in memory of my Dad when the smoke clears. Again I love looking at all your 1/24 builds...Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!! Bob...Plastic model lover...zilla |

Thanks Bob. I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I'm glad he passed his talent on to you! My son has no interest in cars...yet. I'm working on him! I got a little more done on the '56. The chassis was asking for some attention... Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Then I started to do a little with the interior. I plan to add a clear piece behind the instrument guage and light it up. Posted Image Then on to the door jambs Posted Image Posted Image I'm working on the trunk area now Posted Image I wanted a purple a little darker than this, but I can live with it. Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Stay Tuned... Edited by slotto, Feb 18 2017, 06:56 PM.

In tandem to the '56Bel Air, I am also working on a '77 TA. One of my favorite movie cars from the 70's. Opening doors and trunks are way harder than I thought but I can say I've done it. I would love to open up the TA but it's not gonna happen. Instead I opted to run fuel and brake lines... Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Stay Tuned... |

Slotto, Your Purple color looks great for this 56 & with the doors opening you can see the radio and Bel Air detail you added easily. Look at all this detail you have put into the engines and chassis. Not to mention the insane task of making everything swing like you did. Woaaaaaaaaaah!! Bob...Great 1/24th building Man!!...zilla |

Thanks Guys! As things begin to wind down with the 56 Bel Air and are moving forward with the Bandit car, I'm looking towards another car to get into. For giggles I wanted to see what a 60 Imp would look like on my Bel Air chassis... Posted Image Posted Image I must say, I'm in love! I love everything about it. It's got that perfect rake and low down look I'm after. The body is literally sitting on the rear tires. Expect to see something very close to this in the next few months. Stay Tuned... |
