I am so P O'd I could eat nails. My son had friends over Sunday to play video games. For the 3 hours they were here everything was fine. As they were leaving a few said they liked my collection and display of my cars. Well last night I had some cave time to work on my track. As I was cleaning up I went to put some cars away that I had out and I discovered 3 of my cars missing. Since I take a picture of each shelf every time I redo my display case. So I have pictures on my phone so when I am out and I see something I can check if I have it. So I looked at my latest pic's and sure enough they are missing. So do I not let my son have anyone over any more or be a sneakie old man and setup a web cam the next time they are over? I have not said anything to my son yet.

Similar thing happened to me a long time ago. The neighbor's kids were always friendly with my two boys, close in ages. All liked slot cars and the neighbors had some of their own. My older son had his own case with his rough & ready cars in it and would go next door to race when he wasn't racing with me. One day he had a bunch of different cars in his case, along with his old standbys. I asked him where they came from and he said he traded with the neighbors. OK, fine with me. it wasn't until later that it dawned on me that ALL of his cars were there. I asked again and he said he traded some of MY cars for them. Not my runners, some from my collection, because "you never use them". We immediately went next door and reversed the deal, I got MOST of my cars back, lost an Xlerators Willys and another I've since forgotten about, a couple came back painted, too. I would definitely follow up on the loss somehow. It's possible your son has no idea what occurred. The kids responsible should be taught a lesson. Wait until you cool down a little and then start the questioning. JMHO!

Ask your son what he thinks you should do, given his choice of friends. Then go from there.

Ditto ten times over. I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut and waiting for the answer, but put it on him.

60chevyjim, that is wrong on some many levels!! That would have been rough!!

Dave, a similar thing happened to me. I knew which kid it was so it was a little easier for me. The next time I saw the kid I pulled him aside. I told him the car was there and next thing the car was gone! And he was the only one that could have swiped it.
Of course he denied everything! I simply and calmly said to the kid. The problem was between me and him at this point. BUT if the car wasn't returned the problem would become between me and his Dad. This was enough to scare the little bugger into thinking about what would happen if I rocked up and banged their front door. It wouldn't have been good!!!
Within an hour of our conversation the kids younger brother turned up on my doorstep with the car and said he had found it tidying up his brothers room???
Never saw the kid again!!!!

Good news, I told my told my son on Wednesday night what happened, he looks me in the eyes with a look that give me the chills and said he would take care of it. Last night when he came home from work and with a smile handed me the cars. I just said thank you and left it at that.
