You're allowed to make just ONE rule change to the laws of football. What is it? Me: You can only be offside if you're further forward than the 18-yard line. This would encourage strikers to "goal-hang" further forwrd meaning defenders would have to stay further back. This would give much more space in the midfield encouraging a fast, passing game. |

Mine is about fairness, not necessarily about improving the game. If a player is fouled and he needs treatment, he has to start from the side line. I would like the perpetrator to do the same. |

| I'd get rid of the 'interfering with play' rule, which is subject to interpretation. It is nonsense that attackers can stand close to the goalkeeper and in his field of vision, in an offside position, but not interefere with play unless they attempt to play the ball. |

| All bookings, disallowed goals and penalties announced over the PA by the ref explaining what the infringement was. |

I'd slightly tweak that.... I'd say that the perp has to stay off the pitch for the same amount of time as the injured player. That way, the "fouling team" doesn't gain an advantage! |

| Some great suggestions lads. I'd also get rid of the offside rule. Let them goal hang. Let's have more goals. |

| How about sin bins instead of yellow cards? Red cards would still stand. |

| Just like American footie each manager would get three challenges every game. If he disagreed with a disallowed goal or a penno decision say, he could challenge it. It would be reviewed by the officials and if right he gets the decision if wrong he loses a substitution. each review could take no longer that 2 mins.... |

| I'd allow reviews after a game of all bad challenges, whether the ref gave a yellow card or not in the match. If a challenge was bad enough that the player should have been sent off and banned for 3 games, the player would now be retrospectively banned for 3 games. |

I'd throw out the notion that a tackle is either a dive or a free kick with the 2 being mutually exclusive. You oftne see a full on cheating dive, but seeing as the defender did nick him, it is a free kick. The way to eradicate diving is to book players whenever they do it, regardless of whether it is a foul or not - a dive is a dive & should be treated as such. |
