Definition of Break-Even

So apparently, the Premier League is introducing a 'break even' model: linky thing

This allows clubs to lose £105m over a 3 year period. I thought that a break even position was £0 whereas losing £105m meant losing £105m...

David Gold puts his finger on the issue at heart: "What's driving the whole thing is we've got to avoid another Portsmouth."

Meanwhile, on the same day, Portsmouth are given an expulsion threat: another linky thing as they "are said to be around £60m in debt."

Does it need to be pointed out that losing £105m over 3 years would actually rack up more debt than £60m?

Go figure.

All a bit of a farce really....The FA could have prevented this all happening if they had grasped the nettle that was SKY TV money when they first got involved and shoved the prem league. The whole bung could have been better spread to have helped lower leagues and grass roots and there would still be more than enough to enable manure to stuff the coffers of the likes of rooney...
