Is Arsene Wenger bullet proof? He doesn't spend much money compared to other managers and often makes money for the club by developing players and selling them on. Okay so they haven't won anything since 2005 and their target each year is to qualify for the following season's Champions League but they do have a massive debt to pay off on their shiny stadium and they must be making a good dent into that mortgage as the years go by. Bring in a new manager and you know they'll want to spend a pretty penny straight away. |

I have thought this too. He is doing an excellent job in comparison to others, but we all know how fickle the fans can be. We also know that boards can be unrealistic with their expectations. I am waiting for it to unfold and if he did go the chances are years of many different managers and uncertainty awaits, as nobody could do as good as him with the money he has had. |

| I think he's relatively safe. They've been playing the long game since the move to the Emirates. If FFP is administered and enforced properly then they'll have a huge advantage over others. They've had the misfortune of being around during a time of huge financial doping. Man City and Chelsea would be nowhere near the top 4 without the huge investment they've received, meanwhile Liverpool are proof of how difficult it is to remain consistently competitive even if you do make the occasional marquet signing. |
