The bad guy

Port Imperial, Vettarian Federation It had only been only a couple days since Vettaria had lost much of its overseas' territories to the Caliphate. It had only been a day since the Agreement between the Axis and the Sahrids. In the past 24 hours, materials and technology had been sent from Greater Helvany to Vettaria, now awaited transport to the Sahrid Caliphate. The tech crews, Vettarians and Helvans, were already heading to a major port in the Caliphate. As the last of the Nuclear Technology was being loaded onto the SS Madre Regina, Captain Giovanni di Medici sat in his chair on the bridge watching the loading. His first mate, Carlos Auditore, frowned as he stood beside Di Medici. Still staring out the window, Auditore spoke up, "Captain, why be athe Axis sending them aSahridi these anuclear technology?" "Beats ame, Carlos," replied Di Medici. As the pair waited for the loading to end and the Port's control building to clear them to move from the dock, Carlos brewed enough coffee for both of them. As Carlos finished, Di Medici's faced creased into a frown, "These acursed sandaniggers better be adoing good athings with this astuff." Carlos nodded to the captain as he passed Di Medici's cup, full of coffee, to him. Di Medici thanked his first mate. Then the bridge door opened and the crew responsible for the bridge entered, followed by a member of the Military Police. The officer nodded at the pair, and said, "Captain, you may leave when ready. And when I'm off the ship." At that, the Vettarian soldier left the bridge. "Good riddance, eh mi avici?" smirked Di Medici. The crew nodded and chuckled. The gang plank was lifted, crew undid the mooring lines and three tug boats pulled the ship away from its dock. Within ten minutes they were heading into the Aegean at full steam for the Caliphate. |

Aegean Sea 102 kilometers from Sahrid Territorial Waters It had been approximately three days since the Sahrid Armed Forces had been put on high alert. Thanks to the actions of the Caliph--which shocked many in Vazhnabad--the situation in Anatolia had grown precarious. Each officer in the Sultan's army knew that, at any moment, they could find themselves at war with the Kingdom of Aegenia. The effects could be felt throughout the ranks of each branch of the armed forces. The Sahrid navy had deployed most of it's ships to quickly enter the Aegenian Straits and respond to whatever situation might arise. Yet, nonetheless, two Sahrid corvettes under the command of Captain Salman al-Mirza, the SCS Fatima and SCS Shahada had been deployed elsewhere by direct order of the Sultan himself. Here, just beyond the range of Hardenburgh's Aegeanian Fleet, Salman waited for a Vettarian cargo vessel, loaded with what had only been described to him as "sensitive material." Finally, after 12 hours of waiting, the Vettarian cargo ship came into view from the bridge of the Shahada. As per his orders, when the Madre Regina was in range, Captain al-Mirza sent a short range radio transmission. "Salaam and attentions Fettarian fessel: we welcombe you. Blease do not be alarmbed, Fashanabad has merely sent us here to brovide for your brotection. We hab been sent here to es-a-cort you sabely to bort in the city of El-Aziz." The two corvettes then moved to position at either flank of the Madre Regina and maintained speed with her. |

Aegean Sea, 102 kilometers from Sahrid Territorial Waters "Captain! Captain! One ship coming towards our starboard flank and another to our port," Auditore's voice cut into Captain Di Medici's dream. He tore out of his lovely dream with some hot, naked Rybian woman. Di Medici picked up his binoculars, and saw the one corvette to starboard. At first he thought they were pirates, then he remembered he was in the Aegean, but he still couldn't see the ship's ensign. Just as Di Medici was about to order his crew to Defencive Quarters, a Rybian accented voice was emitted through the radio's receiver. "Salaam and attentions Fettarian fessel: we welcombe you. Blease do not be alarmbed, Fashanabad has merely sent us here to brovide for your brotection. We hab been sent here to es-a-cort you sabely to bort in the city of El-Aziz." "F-fashanabad? Never heard of that place...." muttered the Second Mate. De Medici whirled around, "Vashanabad. Rybians don't pronounce words well in Albian." Albian, the native language of Hardenburgh, was the language of commerce. Most Vettarians and Helvanic merchant crews could speak it. Some also could speak Rybian. The captain could, so De Medici picked up the transmitter and confirmed in Rybian that he had understood. |
