The bad guy

Ragluhn, Kuhlany State Union, Greater Helvanic Reich - 1232 Hours, 23 August 2015 The capital city of Ragluhn was silent, the Reich was silent as was the Axis Powers. It had only been a month since the treaty that ended the war in Western Valoria. Führer und Präsident Karl Clemens Franzky sat still in his office within the Presidential Palace. Franzky was solemn now more than usual and with good reason. The Fatherland had been humiliated by the Western empires of Ceroulia and Hardenburgh due to the lack of preparation and superior tactics. Franzky now heard grumblings within the Reich as a whole of whether not Greater Helvany and the National Socialists of Helvanic Workers Party could continue to function. While Franzky worried for the fate of him and his nation, he SD spent the past four days rounding up several military officers and White Roses' movement ring leaders. The SD was slowly earning the contempt of the Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS with these arrests. The grumblings were reaching the Führer's ears and it was only a matter of time before the Reich descended into either a bloody civil war or a peaceful coup. Franzky had ordered the SD to cease the arrests and release those arrested. He had also issued a formal apology to the Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS and would be meeting the heads of the branches today. Knock! Knock! Knock! at the door interrupted his thoughts as his mind cleared. Hurriedly the Führer gave permission for entrance into his office. ReichsmarschallGeorg Medel of the Wehrmacht, Reichsfeldmarshall Hugo von Seelow of the Army, Reichsadmirale Ägidius Happe of the Navy, Reichsluft-Feldmarschall Xaver Tillmann of the Luftwaffe, and Kommandeurführer der Waffen-SS Udo Kiermann stepped into the room. The five and the Führer exchanged the National Socialist salute before sitting in front of Franzky's desk. "Mein Führer, as you are aware, we are most annoyed of certain officers being arrested," began Medel. Franzky nodded, Medel continued. "The Wehrmacht no longer sees the government of Greater Helvany as the legitimate representative of the People and the Fatherland. We hereby declare the Regime void and wish to remove government officials and the National Socialists of Helvanic Workers Party from the political arena." Franzky's face dropped in sorrow. The aging Führer stood towards the window and stared out across Heldenstrasse before turning back to the five senior most military officials. "Comrade Kiermann, and what is the Waffen-SS' position?" Kiermann looked at him knowing full well what his former brother-in-arms was asking, replied, "Mein Führer, the Waffen-SS has long ceased the use of the personal loyalty towards any Führer and pledges to uphold the Fatherland at any cost." "I see," Franzky's expression saddened further as he said this. "What would you have me do, gentlemen?" Medel looked sharply at Franzky before, "We wish for you to call for Reichshalle and disband it, before ordering the Leibschutz to stand down and then you must declare the Helvanic Reich in a state of emergency before stepping down and giving three of us the power to act." "Who will be the three?" asked Franzky. "Medel, Reinhardt Feisner of the Rangers and myself," stated Kiermann. "Very well. I'll do it, " said Franzky. [more to come] |
