Pokemon theories and speculation

Here I want to just collect like random Pokemon facts. They could be about anything and does not have to been 100 percent factual. It could be your theories, your own ideals etc. Speculation on future Pokemon, etc. I got the ideal from watching a few videos on Youtube. One was by Marriland, where he talks about the next Pokemon game, and the other is a series by a user called ProtoMario who posts tons of really interesting Pokemon theories, where its mainly speculation, but with a really good and plausible basis. So I'll start with a few of my own.

1: Genesect could be a modification of Beedrill?
-In the 5th Gen Pokemon game, the information for Genesect says that it was a Bug type Pokemon modified by Team Plasma. It dosent exactly say which Pokemon, or how it was altered, just that Team Plasma put a Cannon on its back. But if you look at it, Genesect looks alot more identical to Pokemon in 1st Gen. I say it was Beedrill because if you look at its body, it kind of looks like its body has a stinger kind of. It dosent have the drill hands but they are similar enough. And even though they are'nt the same type, if Genesect is a modified pokemon, then it dosent need to have the same typing. Also another Pokedex entry says Genesect was feared as being a beastly hunter. Here's what Heartgold has to say about Beedrill: It can take down any opponent with its powerful poison stingers. It sometimes attacks in swarms. If it can take down any opponet obviously its powerful and since they attack in such powerful swarms, naturally they would be feared.

2. Raikou, Entei and Suicuine is based on the original Eeveelutions
-Me and my friend noticed this a few weeks ago and I think it could be some truth to it.
In Johto you have a building called "The Burned Tower". Originally it was called the Brass Tower and it had a great fire mysteriously that burned it down. A sudden rain put the fire out but the Tower was mainly destroyed and three pokemon had perished in the fire. However Ho-Oh came and gave a new life to these three Pokemon, and thus the Legendary Beast were born. I think in second gen that the pokemon that got a "New life" were Flareon,Vaporeon and Jolteon. They all have the same typings and all are kind of dogish looking pokemon. Flareon and Entei dont look terribly alike but they do have some similarities. Such as the wispy tail. Jolteon and Raikou look alot alike. The spikes on Jolteon's back have turned into clouds but the two Pokemon just generally look alike. And they same color scheme. With Suicune and Vaporeon, you can see Vaporeon/s three fins return on Sucuine just in a different form. The fins on Vaporeon's head looks like the crystal on Suicune's head. Somewhat. And also in 2nd Gen Game Freak introduced two new eeveelutions: Umbreon and Espeon. This could possibly be their way of immortalizing the original eeveelutions. Also in the same town as The Burned Tower you have the Dance Studio, which everyone has a different eeveelution. So its possible that the three may have ran away and hid in the tower or the tower burned and they left their Pokemon.

Quick side note before I begin: the Genesect theory I've read about the most is that it was a modified Kabutops (similar to how Mewtwo was covered in armor by Giovanni and Team Rocket).

Not my own theories here, but some of my favorites:

The Gengar-Clefairy/fable Theory
There are several theories about the origins of Pokèmon, but this one interests me the most (my love for Ghost Pokèmon is no secret). The theory is that Gengar is actually the ghost (or shadow) of a Clefairy/fable that suffered a great tragedy (such as the death of its trainer), and is seeking revenge in another form. Several things support it, especially the addition of the Fairy type in Gen 6 and Gengar's access to Dazzling Gleam. What other reason would there be for a Ghost/Poison Pokèmon to have access to Dazzling Gleam? It's uncanny to say the least...

Cubone's Origin
While there is no shortage of mysteries surrounding Pokèmon and their origins, few have been more mysterious than Cubone. There are quite a few theories surrounding Cubone and what it was before it donned its mother's skull as a helmet. One is that it was a Charmander, and its mother Charizard died. The ONLY weight in this theory is that the shape of the skull looks remarkably close to that of a Charizard. The thing that kills this theory: it's common knowledge that if the flame goes out on a Charmander/meleon/zard's tail, it dies. No flame can be seen on Cubone's tail. This brings me to the next theory.

Kangaskhan=Missingno.?
If you look at Cubone's skull helmet again, another Pokèmon comes to mind: Kangaskhan. Kangaskhan is not known as of yet to have any next stage evolutions or pre-evolutions (but we all know how notorious Game Freak is for giving single stage Pokèmon evos and pre-evos in future gens). But, if you consider Kangaskhan as Cubone's mother, there is HUGE evidence to support it: the infamous Missingno. glitch in R/B/Y. Missingno. is short for "missing number." This "missing number", when first located in the original game's coding by hackers, is right between Marowak and Hitmonlee. Coincidence? Maybe. Until the hackers unscrambled the pixels in the Missingno. sprite, and got...Kangaskhan. It's widely believed (and generally accepted) that Marowak was originally supposed to have a 3rd stage form in Kangaskhan, which is very likely (the skull could have formed itself into the solid plate on Kangaskhan's head), but was for some reason changed last minute, too close to the release date to edit it out altogether, resulting in the Missingno. glitch.

These are just some of my favorites. I have more to share, but don't want to cram it all in one post. But, who knows? Maybe Game Freak is leaving certain aspects of Pokèmon open for people to think what they like...or maybe they're hiding the answers in plain sight.

I love the idea that Blue's Raticate was killed during your battle with him at the S.S. Anne. When you encounter him in the original games in Lavender town at the Pokemon Tower he asks if you know what it's like to have one of your Pokemon die. His Raticate is also missing from his party. There's more speculation about how this affects his motivation throughout the remainder of the game, but honestly it's this and the Cubone/Cleffairy myths that add some much needed depth to the story and game franchise as a whole. It also helps bring the humanity back into the developers who are hailed as some of the best marketers in the world because of the sensationalism and child advertising they exploited because, with a twist like that, there was clearly some amount of actual artistic attempt behind the games prior to the merchandising.
Kinda makes you wanna write some fan fic.

Yeah I heard the Genesect-Kabutops thing but Beedrill seems to be much more there for me, especially with the eyes. And then you would have to explain how Kabutops changed from a Rock and Water to a bug type. And also Genesect has two holes at the top of its head where Beedrill's antenna's would be.

Anyway I like the Blue theory. It makes sense, and I always thought the Kangaskan-Marowak theory was pretty cool. I noticed it when I was young and then I looked it up and it would make sense. In 1st gen in general it seems like there was alot of mysterious things. It makes you wonder if the franchise would be in a totally different place had they went through with all of these mysterious things. As Luca said, it adds Depth, and they seem to have gotten way more serious about their storylines starting with Gen 3.

Anymore theories?

Actually today I have a theory. So I'm not sure if you played X or Y but when you go this Office in Luminose City theres this really creepy scene where the screen flashes in and out and a ghost girl appears behind you and floats around you and says "Your not the one". Its creepy and chances are it puts you on end if you never knew about it. Its not the first time there was a Ghost Girl in Pokemon though. In BW and BW2 there was a Ghost girl, but a different one, and this Ghost girl is from Shinnoh.

(Bonus- The Ghost Girl has appeared in every game since D/P. In Shinnoh the Old Cheatue has a girl in it that appears randomly that you can not interact with. Same with Platinum. Its not in HGSS but is in BW, BW2 and XY. All you have to do is look up Pokemon Ghost girl and the games that contain them will pop up on Google)

So DPP was a long time and Im sure alot of people dont exactly remember what happens. In one of the towns though there is a port. This is where you go against the Steel Gym Leader Byron(Barry's dad) and also this town has the port needed to get the Darkrai event. In one of the house there is a girl who is very ill and iis having nightmares because Darkrai is haunting her. Basically, she's on her death bed and the only way to save her is to have her dad give her the Lunar Wing(Which you can do)

However in BW2 this girl appaears in a mansion and mentions multiple times about her being in a dark dream and telling her dad that the Lunar Wing is no longer needed. She is dead and she is a ghost. I cant be 100 percent sure but this kind of a give away. The girl died back in Shinnoh and your efforts to help her failed. Some belive that the BW ghost girl is the XY Ghost girl but they look different and the BW Ghost girl ties in directly to the sick girl of DPPt. So maybe, the XY ghost girl's orgins will be revealed later? Also, if thats the case, does the Dppt ghost girl come from Hoen or Johto?

I saw a really cool theory that kind of blew me away. There is surprising evidence that 2 pokemon in 2 different evolution lines got switched in the first gen. I'm talking about Butterfree and Venomoth, of course. When you look at them, you can clearly see the similarities. Venonat and Butterfree are both purple, have massive red eyes, large oval shaped feet, the same 3 fingered hands, and antennae. The connection is less strong for Venomoth and the caterpie line , but its still very plausible. They all have long, skinny bodies, caterpie and venomoth share the same buggy eyes, and all three have a sort of head ornament. And believe me, a mistake this big isn't out of the question. For crying out loud, look what they did to koffing! I definitely believe this theory, putting it in a category shared by only a few others.
