Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire!; Speculation/Hopes

So if you don't already know, Hoen is officially confirmed. Today Nintendo revealed that Ruby and Shappire are getting remakes to be released in November. Within itself that is a reason to get excited, but also what Nintendo said about these remakes makes me even more excited.

"A fresh adventure"
Also if you compare the box art for the two games to the original Kyorge and Groundon art, you will see that they recieved a new formes. Either Mega-Evo's or their Alpha and Omega Forms. Nintendo also claims this will be a dramatic new adventure, leading my to believe it will be less along the lines of FRLG and HGSS and more along the lines of BW2. BW2 was a very different game, in the same region as its predecessor. It seems ORAR(Omega Ruby, Alpha Shappire) will be along the same way. I also come to that conclusion because of the name of the games themselves: Alpha and Omega, beginning and end.

So what do you hope for these remakes? What are your expectations?

All I want is less water, a challenging E4, more Poke diversity and a rebuffed storyline.

I kinda hope for different gym leaders, or at least change the order of some of them. And I agree with the less water thing...god so much water.

Idk...it does advertise them as being in a "COMPLETELY NEW WORLD". But maybe thats just referring to the regeneration of Hoenn with new trees style and new paths and new trainer models but bleh.

Also
I would like the evil team(s) to be reallllyyyyyy goooood and actually have a good storyline. Not just the generic "i want to do something evil by awakening a legendary pokemon". E.g.

Nothing was wrong with the Gym Leaders, they should be fun to be battling again. The towns & routes are going to be fun traveling through again. I just hope they add the Battle Frontier to it.

I want to see the frontier again and all the battle buildings Emerald had (a ton)
Hopefully the space center will be expanded upon with some Deoxys story post game

The hoen Gym Leaders were good, but the E4 definitely need a buff, and I hope they add Emerald's extra features to the game. It would be dope if Groundon and Kyorge are fighting and then we still have to go to Sky Pillar and Rayquaza has to calm them down, and we catch the Legend from whatever version we had, and we get to catch Rayquaza later. Also we need Postgame. The original RS has almost no Postgame, and XY dosent have alot of Postgame content either.

And Im not worried about the teams as much. Naturally they will get better storylines, even HGSS attempted to add a slight storyline to Team Rocket, and Im sure they will do the same with these remakes

I do want to see a mega rayquaza, and perhaps the deoxys, jirachi events should be in-game content and not Dlc. If they added new hoenn pokemon, I wonder what but, maybe some new evolutions (relicanth, girafarig, corsola, a third stage for mightena) I know I'm naming some random stuff, but just some hopes for some new additions

I hope it has all the new stuff from X/Y put into it. I know everyone hates the water but I hope they don't change it. Maybe just make you surf faster or something

In all honesty, I'm hoping for more mega evolutions. This is due to the fact that no 5th or 6th gen Pokemon received any recognition from Mega Stones. Hopefully they do put this to mind.

Gen 3 has always been my favorite one. Hopefully, Gamefreak don't screw this one up, I'm looking forward to Battle Frontier facilities and more mega evolutions if possible. If there's a new side of Rayquaza we need to see, then so be it. Gen 3 won't let us down!!!!!

Yea, I agree with that. I grew up playing gen 1-3, and three was the one I really liked. Although, gen 2 I had an overpowered lvl96 typholsion that just REKTD everything lol (I think I beat the e4 like at least 60 times, but I didn't know what I was doing)

There's new footage of the Kyorge/Groundon event. I'll provide the link.

Groundon/Kyorge Openings

You can find footage of Groundon at 1:04. I wont spoil it, just in case you dont want any spoilers at all.
You can find footage of Kyorge at 1:40.

I also think the graphics are improved with this game. It looks more like how they make Zelda games, its beautiful, very realistic 3D, looks HD. I just hope they fix the framerate issues they have with XY.

Also I cant be 100 percent sure but on Lan's facebook page, one of his friends said that various sources say that Game Freak Trademarked the following names: Mega Kyorge
Mega Groundon
Mega Sceptile
Mega Swampert
Mega Plusle
Mega Minun
Mega Mightyena
Mega Linoone

I have no doubt that Sceptile and Swampert will get Mega-Evos, it would be unfair if Blaziken was the only one, and even on the box art Groundon and Kyorge have new forms. If those are the Omega/Alpha forms or Mega forms I don't know, but I just new they both have new forms. Mega Plusle and Minun also could be great additions, because of how underwhelming they are.

Only problem I have with mega evolutions is that gf tend to make them too good. If they can make mega evos that are strong but don't dominate the meta then I'd be for more mega evos.

However, we know that there's gonna be that one group of megas that will end up dominating, but I think the current mega evos might be good contenders for the incoming ones. Not to mention some might be mistiered based on look; I know when people first saw MManetric, they were like "EW. He has mountains on his back. He's obviously bad." Now look at him, he's caused a whole discussion on league bans. Hoping not to start another MManetric riot, the point is, people can sometimes ignore pokemon based on looks.

Lol, Its funny how when a new mega/pokemon comes out everyone says its the worst one then it ends up being the best.I know a lot of people who said Mega manectric sucks then this happened .__.

Yea, then also I hope that they don't give everything speed boost lol...or make a lot of priority type abilities. Prankster and gale wings are enough, and I have a feeling they might create either broken abilities or op pokemon

I myself want character customization, which I really think it would be a bad thing if they didn't add it again. I don't really want to see a lot of changes in the world, but more like in B/W2 where it was the same world, but with some added landscape. I kinda liked the water area, mostly because it is different from every other game. I'd just want there to be more to discover, and I really hope they have the Dive areas again.

As for megas, I don't know... I'd hope there would only be a few if any myself. They really shouldn't add a lot for each new game, because soon, every pokemon would have a mega and that would be lame.

Other than that, I really just want the gen 3 game with gen 6 mechanics and gen 6 graphics.

I wonder if they will add new moves, though I'm not sure if they made new moves for the gen 2 remake (or did they?)

All things aside, I do want to see more team aqua/magma moments; I felt that there were too few instances where you battled them, but maybe it was because of the map's size

I heard this cool theory where they might do a type of sequel, where in each game the opposite team actually succeeded in changing the world, and you need to use the other legendary to keep the balance of land and sea. Most of this theory was sparked from the phrase, "A whole new world" because It really would've altered the region, but still be giving us the region we know.

Other than that, I don't think customization will be a thing. That was really Kalos' defining factor, being attributed with beauty. Good ideas from other regions often haven't been used again, not because they don't work, but because they are just exclusive to that region, such as Pokémon walking with you in Johto.

Just my two cents, but Im still so hyped for this game. Hoenn was my favorite, and I can't wait to see it with improved graphics and updated mechanics (physical special split) and the new pokemon.

I also wonder what will be the theme for this remake (ex: gen 5 was weather, gen 6 was mega evo)

Gen 3 was weather, btw. The weather Trio. Gen 5 was Balance.

One thing I actually really want is for the actual game cards to be a clearish red/blue like how the GBA cartridges are. That, and I really hope they add pokemon contests again, but perhaps revamped a bit more. Also, Battle Frontier!

Another thing I hope they put back is the pokenav. From what I remember you could rechallenge trainers to battles; I hope you can rechallenge gym leaders or add more trainers for end game stuff. That was the one thing my friends say kinda sucks about XY: barely any end game compared to BW 1 and 2

Oh and thanx for the clarification frost. Someone told me the main theme in gen 5 was weather, but guess they were wrong

Chu, all I have to say, is, Mega Garchomp. Gen 5 bro. I personally had something against this new game "just because" of all of the extra water, the fact that you could easily get extremely lost in mid-game and not know where to go, and that Watson was OP for anyone who didn't use Swampert. I'm not seeing much of MegaEvos in this game; however, I would just like to see some evolutions for Gen 3 pokemon that were severely underpowered. I would be happy just to see a further evolution of swellow, tropius, linoone, plusle and minun, and some others.

I would say that my favorite part of x/y was that -- after 16 years, they finally put some cinematics in their game. I would honestly be willing to pay extra for the game if they added some cutscenes, not many, just some. I would also like to see player to npc chat go to a different level; maybe go spectrobes on this game and have a portraits of the characters animate the talk. If you dont get what I'm saying, just look up spectrobes 2 on youtube and look at the player-npc chat.

I understand that the player customization was a defining theme of Kalos. However, it's gotten too popular for GameFreak to give up. Maybe give us more options on hairstyle, height, weight, just stuff that defines good charater personalization.

Now, for the events. I would love to see an event similar to the Torchic event in AROS, only for the slateport tickets, and possibly add more of a storyline to the events. I would love to see the events be more of a post-game sidequest. Not much, just something to add spice to the postgame. I personally enjoy the islands in the original Emerald. I thought it was a very inventive way of using the closed Slateport docks. However, they lacked the pizzaz that usually follows current events. I have nothing against the Battle Frontier, but there needs to be more than just that. Maybe add something like in Platinum? A post-game story mode?

Contests, the defining line of Hoenn, we all loved them, however, they lacked the excitement that the anime brought to them. I understand that there is still no good way to judge contest battles, but please, give us something new!

Maybe make Mirage Island better to deal with? We could wait for years for it to show up, yet all we get is a berry and a chance at some Wynauts.

There are plenty of possibilites for the new game. I personally look forward to a new and revamped storyline.

PokeBank. We had one month to move all our crap over or we had to pay for it. What happened here? I'm not going to pay $5.00 for it, but it is nearly essential if you are going to finish your Pokedex alone.

Just some stuff. Comment, Compliment, or Hate. Doesn't matter.

If you chose mudkip, Watson would never use electric moves on marshtomp. But either way, I still agree that he wasn't difficult. Makuhita was available in whatever cave that was that Steven was in but as long as you had some moves that could threaten any of his pokemon, you would be good
