Hello everyone. I'm here to teach you about our nation. I hope you find this class interesting and some what helpful. Here's a short introduction to what fire bending is. Firebending is the ability to control fire. It's very unique among the bending arts as it's the only one in which the performer can spontaneously generate the element. Fire is the element of power, consisting of overpowering force tempered by the unflinching will to accomplish tasks and desires. Firebenders draw their energy from the sun and other solar objects, such as comets. Firebenders are also said to draw power from volcanic energy and lightning, though this has never been seen. The first human firebenders derived their firebending techniques from the dragons. The first people to learn from the dragons were the Sun Warriors. The Modern Fire Nation had it's citizens believe that firebending represents rage and anger, when actually it represents energy and life. Additionally, after defeating Katara at the rise of the sun, during the Siege of the North, Zuko stated that she rose with the moon, but he rose with the sun, further emphasizing and demonstrating the sun's importance to firebending. Homework: 1 Name as many sources as you can, where firebenders get their energy and techniques from 2 What does the Modern Fire Nation have its citizens believe? 3 Who discovered that firebending represents energy and life? 4 Is there anything in particular you would like to learn from these lessons? Homework's due by the next lesson, if you're going to be late please let me know and I'll excuse you Edited by Mirai Daishi, Feb 18 2013, 09:40 PM.
