Just finished watching it and damn this movie is brutal, it does a great job with its characters and has a nice pace leading to the inevitable conclusion that just hammers you emotionally. |

Yeah, I saw this as a kid. Pre-9/11 and it terrified me. I like this movie, but it's very depressing. |

I like Deep Impact, but if you're looking for a disaster film, this is more of a thriller + drama. This movie is really really dark, and there are two scenes (one involving the astronauts digging moles into the asteroid), and a car crash one that are really dark, and scary. Then there is a whole lot of drama involving minimal characters, but it somehow works. It's a really emotional movie, and also I didn't really find the effects to be too impressive, but I liked the characters a lot |
