Unless a comet can be destroyed before colliding with Earth, only those allowed into shelters will survive. Which people will survive?

I like Deep Impact, but if you're looking for a disaster film, this is more of a thriller + drama. This movie is really really dark, and there are two scenes (one involving the astronauts digging moles into the asteroid), and a car crash one that are really dark, and scary. Then there is a whole lot of drama involving minimal characters, but it somehow works. It's a really emotional movie, and also I didn't really find the effects to be too impressive, but I liked the characters a lot
I really wish they had shown more of the disaster since all the build up only leads to maybe 5 minutes of action probably because those effects aren't the greatest which is why it cost half what Armaggedon did.

Hmm, that may make me enjoy it even more considering I'm not 2 big of a fan of action/disaster films 4 the most part, so, it being more focused on the charries is a BIG plus. :amirightladies:

a lot of the suspense sequences are far darker than that of a regular disaster flick, so knowing you, you'd probably like it.

The bit where the astronauts dig into the comet is claustrophobic, and uneasy. That's my way to describe it. And then suddenly it leads up to something that's horrifyingly disastrous and you're as helpless as the astronauts watching this shit happen to their coworkers in Space. It has scary elements for a disaster film, so that's another thing it really does well. The suspense is built up better than most disaster films sans The Towering Inferno/Poseidon's Adventure

And you are... a zombie bride?
This was the movie that was better than Armageddon, but which everybody forgot about for some reason. I remember liking it quite a bit.
