![]() IMDB Blurb: When Rebecca left home, she thought she left her childhood fears behind. Growing up, she was never really sure of what was & wasn't real when the lights went out...& now her little brother, Martin, is experiencing the same unexplained & terrifying events that had once tested her sanity & threatened her safety. A frightening entity with a mysterious attachment to their mother, Sophie, has reemerged. But this time, as Rebecca gets closer to unlocking the truth, there is no denying that all their lives are in danger...once the lights go out. Decided 2 post this thread since the 2nd trailer premiered 2day, even tho I'm not particularly interested in this film, personally, esp. considering the 2nd trailer made this film feel as if it makes less sense than it did b4: if w/e tf this thing is used 2 be a little girl that currently has an attachment 2 her currently living bestie, y in the shit is she killing all these random ass ppl? Not 2 mention, y is she appearing 2 all these ppl in the 1st place when she could only be haunting this 1 bitch that clearly ain't got an issue w/ being haunted? I mean, sure, I'mma watch this movie anywho, so maybe it'll make sense then, but if even the trailer can't clarify that shit, how's the movie gonna do?

Yeah we all had a good time. We laughed, jumped, a few people screamed. One scene that is by far the best in the movie got people cheering too. It was a really awesome audience. |

Oh yeah. Honestly this is in my top five horrors this year already. It may have been Top 3 but that ending sort of knocked it down a peg. Personally, I wanted the ending to play out differently. *SPOILERS AHEAD* SERIOUSLY READ AFTER YOU WATCH OR HAVE IT RUINED. Spoiler: click to toggle But that's really the only major complaint I have so it's definitely in my top five. |

Good 2 know that Stuckmann approves of this, even tho his main issue w/ it seems 2 be the issue that I've been formulating ever since the short @ the "creature" in question breaking her own rules, but I'll wait 2 c if it's more 2 it than that when the time comes : |

Since I've heard some good things about the creature's seemingly not fully divulged backstory, that I don't know much about myself, personally, I'd be cool w/ it if this got a sequel, depending upon if I like the 1st film or not & whether the right story is approached in regard 2 the sequel :http://bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3399978/lights-new-line-sdcc/ |

And you are... a zombie bride?

I'm in agreement that the ending was fairly anti-climatic and dragged down what was otherwise a pretty good film. Honestly, though, that wasn't the real problem that I had with it. Once I thought about it when I was writing my review, some elements of it struck me as being flat-out offensive. Spoiler: click to toggle It's a shame how much I disliked the ending, because the bulk of this film was actually decent, if uneven. Maria Bello knocked it out of the park as Sophie, and while I thought Teresa Palmer was pretty flat in comparison, she still managed to build a really compelling character, especially in her interactions with Sophie. The scares were fairly rote, and the film constantly breaking its rules as to how Diana reacts to the light was sadly noticeable (does she disappear, or burn up?), but the atmosphere did a lot to elevate the affair, enough to make up for the fact that the audience I saw this with was flat-out obnoxious (I wasn't as lucky as the rest of you). I'd like to see the director of this keep working and iron out his rookie mistakes, and work with a better script. My full review is here. Edited by Kevin R., Jul 24 2016, 01:46 PM.
