IMDB Blurb:
A family in 1630s New England is torn apart by the forces of witchcraft, black magic and possession.

I can't @ the fact that we didn't already have a thread 4 this. Not only is it quite possibly THE. best period piece I've ever seen, but it's probz the best straight-up horror film of the yr. There's nothing bad I could find 2 say about this insane little movie, it's everything I'd hoped it would be & more & while I haven't watched it as many times as I did w/ It Follows last yr, I'm almost positive I'll be rewatching once again sometime soon becuz of how great the movie is. :nooo:

I still refuse to watch this movie ever again. It's fabulous but it just was the thing of beyond fucking nightmares for me. Never been so scared by a movie before or since.
When will other horror movies?

I wasn't frightened by it, but more in awe at the dedication that comes with researching that fucking dialogue, making accurate sets, having that surreal cold and bitter tone - totally dug this movie!

Probably would be one one of the few to do this since we know I don't scare easily.

Also all the reasons I love it Michael.

If this ain't fucking ME, I still can't @ how they sold that shit :aricry: ; I mean, I ain't gonna lie, tho, my ass was cackling @ some of the wild shit that went down in the movie, but I can still c how it would scare the shit outta some1, becuz it perfects the pacing of these kinda horror movies that rely on foreboding build-up, accentuated by a wild situation & keeping that cycle going >>>

Pray for mercy from Puss... in boots.
Just like me waiting forever to see It Follows, this exceeded my expectations. It perfectly captures the period it's set in and provides a perfect gradual buildup right to the end. Loved how Eggers wasn't afraid to leave certain things unseen which makes this even creepier. Easily one of the best horror films of the past 20-30 years.

Literally EVERY. time I've watched this it's been either pitch black night outside or a misty afternoon where night is coming on, but the remainder of the day's light is kept intact by the sky having just. rained. There's no in between & there's no other way I've experienced this, the universe just seems 2 KNOW the right time 4 me 2 watch & Miss Mother Nature will do the rest & I still love it just as much as I did every other time.

Meanwhile, I also stumbled upon the info that Robert Eggers is legit gonna write & direct a remake of Nosferatu & sure as SHIT know I ain't even ready 4 this, even w/ the universe coming thru w/ this warning b4 production has even started, this motherfucker coming back 2 kill each & every 1 of us DEAD.
